Can someone explain to me why both games can't be played the same time? It's not like they play in the same park.
The two stadiums are in close proximity making parking a nightmare.
Stadiums are right next to each other with a shared parking lot. There would not be enough parking. Public transportation into the area is minimal.

Looking at their schedule, Rex will be lucky to make it to the Bye.

Bucs, Pats, Falcons, Steelers, Pats, Bengals, Saints all before the Bye in Week 10.

Sure -- I used to live in DC so I remember. I don't think I ever once parked in an official lot for an Orioles game.

Plus, I'm almost positive they've had games simultaneously before. This just seems like a stupid argument.

Total prediction here but I bet the Jets take Mingo with the 9 pick and Austin with the 13.

Also seems to be a lot of heat with the Jets trying to trade down in the draft for more 2's or 3's.

Yeah if I'm the Jets I trade back both of those picks and just get as many picks as I can. Mingo and Austin could turn out great... or they could both be total busts.

But how can they resist "Mingo the Merciless"? - Once fighting against a Jet he now battles with them!!

Great move by the Jets to get Chris Ivory for a 4th.  He averages 5.0 ypc.  His one knock is he puts the ball on the ground too much.  Still, he outproduced Mark Ingram last season.

Was watching as this pick came in last night.  Within 30 seconds the network had a poll up "Who should start at quarterback for the Jets in 2013?".

Quarterback controversy in New Jersey - it's on.

He also has a poor injury history.  Good move though.  The guy runs hard.

To be truly accurate, it would need to include Guci and sometimes Gyny.

So is this the end for Tebow, or will some team try to convert him to a different position?

This is really unfortunate. I was really looking forward to the daily media circus with all of these QB's in training camp. Smart move by the Jets. So the whole Tebow saga cost them a 4th round pick and 1.5 million in salary last year. Are they on the hook for his Salary for this year as well? I can't remember if it was guaranteed.

I'm pretty impressed that zero NFL GMs are biting on the 2011 mirage. Tebow shouldnt be a rosterable NFL QB, but pretty surprised no one has bit. Would be a good 53rd man for the minimum as long as he's third or lower on the QB depth chart.

According to this ESPN writeup:

The final Tebow bill: It cost the Jets a fourth-round pick and $1.5 million in salary, plus another $2.5 million they had to pay the Denver Broncos to satisfy part of the trade agreement.

I can't wait to hear what Bayless does today on First Take.

I don't believe that tweet at all.  Tebow is turning down potential opportunities to play in the NFL when no team was interested in him as a QB (wonder why?) as part of a trade.  That makes no sense or Tebow and his agent are as irrational as the Tebow lovers on this site. I'm going with the former.

A complete stable sweep would be even smarter -- wave bye-bye to Sanchize and turn the position over to Smith and Garrard.

Awesome would be Sanchez joining Tebow on Soxfan's northbound train -- after Mallet is flipped to another team for a 2014 second-rounder.  Felger and Mazz could form the greeting committee at South Station.

Per ESPN:

Various members of the Jets organization were warming to Tebow this offseason, which is one reason Idzik released the quarterback Monday morning, the source said.

So, basically, they cut the guy who is looking more like a quarterback to reduce distractions for the guy who's looking less like one?  Only the Jets.

Nah.  There probably were people in the organization that felt Tebow couldn't be worse than Sanchez so he should be given a shot but drafting Smith put an end to that.  No point in keeping Tebow now, he wasn't getting time behind center this season.

Pronunciation aside, it masquerades as a "G" word, much like Jet QBs masquerade as pro QBs. And I liked the rotating slab of meat analogy.,

I'm with Dogman; is Tebow so stubbornly sold that he's a (starting?) QB in the NFL that he turned down offers to play TE? That doesn't make a goddamn lick of sense.

Depends on how interested you are in getting concussions, I guess.

Except it wouldn't be. If they cut Sanchez, he has over 4 million that goes on NEXT year's cap. I would assume (and really hope) they are trying to leave next year as wide open as possible so they can really start to rebuild.

When asked if he would consider playing TE he refused...he seems to be crazy to think he will land a QB job in the NFL

Now that I think about it, Tebow may well have said no to playing TE when, and only when, the Jets approached him about a trade. This may have been a fuck you to them for skipping him last season for McElroy.  In this instance, the Jets get nothing for him and Tebow can sign where he wants to play whatever position the signing team wants.

It's at least a fair question as to whether Jacksonville will sell more tickets with Tebow as QB, or with Henne or Gabbert as QB.  They won 2 games last year; expectations are low.

I don't think he's at the "I just want to stick on an NFL roster" stage yet.

He want's to be a QB. If he gets cut and doesn't get a nibble to play as an NFL QB, I'm sure he'll rethink that. Right now, he still thinks he can stick as an NFL starting quarterback.

If the patriots sign Tebow, would that be a sign that Josh McDaniels has a larger say in personel moves then we thought? Or have their been reports that BB also has had interest in tebow?

At least if the Pats sign Tebow, we can rest assured that he won't be getting anywhere near the QB position.  I gotta imagine someone of his unique talents would give BB all sorts of trick plays and misdirection opportunities - stuff that he'd love.

I could see him saying he won't play TE (or any other position) because he wants to clear waivers and be able to pick where he ends up as opposed to being traded somewhere he might not want to go.  Who knows - I'm just sick of hearing about him (like everyone else).

But trick plays only are tricks if you think Tebow can do something with the ball OTHER than tuck it and run.  Since he hasn't shown much ability to throw the ball, the defense doesn't really need to do anything other than treat him like any other RB.  I think that was the key to the Pats' destruction of the Tebow-led Broncos: ignore the pass on all option plays.

If that is the conclusion you make about Tebow's skills, then he needs to compete with the RB's and TE's.  And I just don't see him doing that.  At least not on this Patriots team
