I didn't see Cespedes that much when he was in Oakland, but he was an absolute butcher for the Red Sox.   Great arm and all, but he was lost out there.

This made me do a double take as well. He has a cannon but even in Oakland he was the definition of a butcher with the glove.

No, they are used for the entire process.  There are no "nominations," the award has already been decided, these names are just the top finishers for each position.
