Here
Green Bay is the second best team in football now, and Denver is 6th? It's lulz. Patriots are top 3 on paper, 4th at worst (Seattle, San Fran, Denver).

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots have signed veteran tight end Nate Byham.

The 26-year-old Byham spent the past two seasons with Tampa Bay after his first two seasons with San Francisco. Byham has 11 catches for 83 yards and one touchdown in 29 games since the 49ers drafted him out of Pittsburgh in the sixth round in 2010. Last season, he had three catches for 38 yards in four games with the Buccaneers.

It's apparently shared by Jaworski.

PFT has Pats at 4.

But this is just a lot of cotton candy anyways.

Its getting a bit worrisome, hopefully its a short stay while he gets himself into practicing shape.

EDIT: Gronk not starting training camp on the PUP would be a bit of a surprise and really concrete evidence he's on track for a week 1 start.

This Dobson foot injury really worries me. He had surgery in the early spring and its still not right. One might infer that any production from him this year will be a positive outcome.

There's a big jump from "it's taking a while" to "he might not produce anything this season."

For anyone wondering about those two injury lists and the implications

From the Herald

So far, Gronkowski has avoided the PUP list, but it was unclear if that meant he would be ready to practice Thursday, according to a source. The Patriots can still place Gronkowski, or anyone else for that matter, on the PUP list prior to the initial practice of training camp.
Players can be removed from the PUP/NFI lists at any point before Week 1, but they can’t be added to either list once the team launches its run of practices. In many cases, these transactions are precautionary, and players are activated early in camp. That strategy protects the team from a setback, which would allow the player to remain on the PUP/NFI lists until Week 7 rather than a trip to injured reserve.

We go through this every year where we freak out only to have players removed from the list in the first couple days of camp.

Foot injuries tend to be very sensitive and be very easy to re-injure. Is it a stretch to say he'll be in and out of the lineup all season?
Its a stretch to say that definitively. Seems like the team is proceeding cautiously to try and avoid reinjury.

Given that you outright state the sensitivity of these foot injuries, why would you assume that he's going to be in and out of the lineup all season rather than accept that they are handling his feet with caution (I mean, aside from an "expect the worst" sensibility)?

It's all speculation, but that was my take, too -- better to have him healed as much as possible in order to avoid recurrence rather than rush a return to what is, after all, just training camp.

Probably typical tabloid filler, but if true than Brady's marriage is on the rocks.

http://starmagazine.com/2014/07/21/gisele-tom-a-house-divided/

Since the couple’s kids are too young to help out around the house, Gisele has enforced a strict chore schedule that their dad must stick to. “They have housekeepers,” reveals a friend, “but Gisele won’t let them do anything. She makes Tom get up at 6 a.m. with the children and then has him scrub the toilets and clean the floors while she sleeps in.
...
“One time, Tom didn’t do one of the chores on his list, and she berated him — even telling him that he’s a terrible role model for their children.

Good for a laugh.

Indeed, the last straw for the NFL quarterback came when his wife of five years abruptly decided to uproot the entire family from Tom’s native California to a Boston suburb. After supervising construction on their $40 million dream home in L.A., the Brazilian native decided that she needed a quieter environment in order to keeps tabs on her hubby.

Slightly more plausible. I'm guessing the former and that the 2nd quote is conjecture.

Anyone else worried about Easley being on the NFI?

Are we going to get anything from him this year? or is it a redshirt season while the knees heal up?

As far as DTs go....how bad is missing significant Pre season time?

Zero reason to be worried. They can take him off anytime.

With a bunch of other defensive tackles who have more experience in front of him, he doesn't need to play a whole lot of snaps early anyway. Time to get healthy, learn the defense and begin to contribute later in the year. Sort of like Jamie Collins last year.

Linebackers and defensive backs have lots and lots to learn in a new defensive scheme.

Easley might need to learn some new terminology but DT is not a position with a steep learning curve. "Go get the QB" or "play the B gap".

I concur, less than zero reason to be concerned. I think Easley is going to be RoY. And he'll play from Week 1. Might not play much in the preseason because why waste bullets in preseason? Much like Revis and Gronk and a few others, game reps are important, exhibition game reps are just wasteful and potentially risky.

This.  A pissed off Brady that sleeps on the film room couch is exaclty what I'd hope for - better than the headband/pony tail/cuddling with baby goats Brady.  /sorta sarcasm he's still a all world qb, he just has sandlot receivers

Really? Gisele Bundchen put her foot down and demanded to move from LA to Brookline to keep tabs on Brady? Sure.

I believe the GQ "cuddling with goats" pictures were pre-Giesele and actually smack dab in the middle of all of the Super Bowl winning.

I love the guy more than I love my kids but let's not pretend that there wasn't more than a hint of metrosexual Tom before Gisele came along.

Edit:  Oh, and the image of Tom Brady scrubbing toilets and doing other chores because his supermodel wife makes him is hysterical. .

haha.  Fucking Giselle!  Of all places she picks BOSTON to make Tom move to!   Bitch.

I mean seriously, I'm all for Tom wreaking havoc among the world's supermodels as a single man, but couldn't they come up with something better than that?

Of course that's what they're trying to do. But you can think you're all healed then get it re-injured just like that. Feet are bitches to deal with.

So are many injuries-shoulders, backs, necks, hamstrings, concussions, knees.  Fuck, Gronk's been having long term problem after problem with a broken arm.

Is it actually the case that feet are particularly problematic?

Belichick says Gronkowski will not be on the PUP list. He's "been cleared to play."

Not to worry.  This week's edition of the Star says that Giselle is running away with Bat Boy and having their love child.

Thanks. I was comparing the picture to pictures of the correct answer and I just wasn't sure. There's a photo out there on the interwebs where he's scruffy but has a lot less neck fat going on. Hopefully it's just the photo.
