This year is shaping up to be a fascinating parallel to 5 years ago.
In 2009, UNC was coming off its second title in 5 years (2005 / 2009), Duke had just had 3 awful years (2007-2009), Duke wasn't getting many great recruits, and all the talk was that UNC was heads and shoulders above Duke, Hansbrough had never lost in Cameron, etc.
And then Duke comes in out of nowhere and wins the title in 2010 with a bunch of upperclassmen, upsetting the narrative.

In 2015, Duke was coming off its second title in 6 years (2010 / 2015), UNC had just had a series of 3 season s in which they lost 10+ games, Duke was getting all the great one and done players, UNC was suffering in recruiting from sanction rumors, and all the talk was that Duke was heads and shoulders above UNC, and the head-to-head records validated this assumption.
And then UNC [might] win the title in 2016 with a bunch of upperclassmen, upsetting the narrative.

now, it's not exactly apples to apples, since UNC was preaseason #1 this year (which a lot of people scoffed at), but still. the parallels are pretty neat.
