The house cleaning starts today. Now he needs to clear out the offensive coaching staff, hire an OC and let him actually devise and run an offense. I think you'll see a lot of 5th years being let go as well and look for a lot of recruiting for 5th yr transfers, especially at QB, OL, TE and on defense. Not sure he'll get all those positions but that is where he needs to look for immediate help. My concern is he loses Don Brown and the D regresses. Will be a ton of D1 coaching positions open in the offseason and Brown will be a popular guy for either as a low level HC job or a coordinator on a P5 program looking to get over the top.
As for the QB spot, how would you rank them on the depth chart? Is it Wade, Fadule then Smith? None give me confidence thay can lead an O in the very near future, and some I question if they can at all.
The three year Addazio review by the numbers:
Overall: 17-21 (.447 winning pct)
Record v FBS: 13-21 (.382 winning pct.)
Record v P5: 9-20 (.310 winning pct.)
Record v Ranked teams: 1-5 (v. #9 USC in 2014)
Comeback wins (when trailing at the half v. FBS only): 1- v. Va Tech in 2013. All other wins they were either tied or leading at the half. They also had a comeback v. Villanova in 2013, they were down 14-7 at the half in that game.
Bowl Record: 0-2
In the second half of each of the last three seasons (game #7-end) their record is:
2013: 4-3;
2014: 3-4;
2015: 0-6
Overall: 7-13 (.350 winning pct)
-Looks very Spaz like I'm afraid.
To say it is bad is an understatement. I am really disappointed as I truly thought he would take the program back to the Jags level or at least be 8-4 and knock off 1-2 ranked teams a year. Instead, in year 3, the program has regressed. Not very optimistic anymore fellas. I look at the program and I see players who are not very good playing a schedule that is crappy save for the games the ACC gives it. A blowhard coach who is full of cliches but can't manage a clock or put together a reasonable O game plan and a weak AD IMHO. 2016 and 2017 brings one P5 school back on the OOC schedule (ND) but we get to play UMass and Holy Cross in 2018. It's back to future, circa 1969. All we need is VMI for the homecoming game. Ugh.
