According to Gary Myers (Brady vs. Manning author), If Polian was not fired before the Luck draft, he wanted to draft luck and keep both players on the roster.

Only Polian could screw up the biggest advantage of having a good young QB in the new rookie salary structure. The guy is insane.
Also, if he knew how hurt Manning was he would have drafted Kaepernick or Dalton in the first round that year. He is great at identifying serviceable QB's once they have played in the league for years.

My point about Luck last week--before everyone went to their assigned Luck corners--scouts said hitch in throwing motion never seen before.

They were speculating it was because he was injured. Then video of Hasselback patting him on chest and Luck reacting like he'd been punched.

I'm starting to wonder if Luck is going to wind up like Bledsoe if they don't get him a better OL.  Drew was great, but got happy feet later in his career thanks to getting brutalized behind some terrible o-lines.

Edit:  Looks like he's almost certainly hurt.

Brady's played with cracked ribs, broken fingers and a hernia before, and even though there was suspicion of him being hurt, there was never confirmation during the season. I'm sure it'll be the same with Luck, he clearly was bothered by something in the game against the Titans.

Mike Wells ESPN Staff Writer

Coach Chuck Pagano said Andrew Luck is day to day with a right shoulder injury. Pagano said he has supreme confidence Luck will play against Jacksonville on Sunday.

Surprised to not see this talked about here but what an embarrassment of a post game speech by Pagano

"I'm telling you this is bigger than a football game," Pagano told his players. "This is about life and learning lessons about life. That you can do anything that you want to do. ... That's as big of win that I've ever been a part of in my life. I'll cherish that for the rest of my life."
Week 3, guy. Pump the brakes a bit maybe. The video is even better but I suck at embedding. I'm disappointed this didn't come from Rexy.

La Mancha.
The best part are the awkward looks on the faces of just about every player in the background as he's making his ridiculous speech.

Yikes. I'm not one for great pre- or post-game speeches in general – these guys are football coaches not politicians.

But the whole thing kind of feels like a breakdown – with the the tears and OTT message in light of the battles with Grigson and Saban rumors. And maybe it was just some judicious editing on the producer's part, but the contrast between Pagano's message and Luck's "It's a long road ahead..." comment after suggests that the team may be starting to take matters into their own hands.

Wow, man that really puts BB's XXXIX Super Bowl speech into perspective, huh?

"The Eagles released their parade route today, which goes down Cross St, to Main St, if anyone wants to go to that."

Luck out with a shoulder today. First snap he'll ever miss in four years as a pro. Jim Sorgi Old man Matt Hasselbeck will start.

It's not the first snaps he'll miss. Hasselbeck had 56 attempts the last two years.

I think it might be first snaps Luck missed due to injury.

Yeah, that speech certainly was rousing.

Goes right up there with The Gettysburg Address, "I have a dream" and "Run it up Herman, leave no doubt" from Remember the Titans as all time greats.

I  mean afterall, beating the Titans by the skin of your nuts would make any coach proud........................what a stooge.

They might win the crappy South, but this team is going to get destroyed in the playoffs per usual unless Luck goes on a heater that makes Flacco blush

Taken to the bitter end by the fuckin' Jaguars, yet celebrating like they're AFCCG participants again.
My Colts hate goes back to the 70's, 1977 to be exact when they tanked a game vs the Lions on a blocked punt which resulted in the Patriots missing the playoffs.

They've been a rinky dink, chicken shit organization for years; the players and coaches change, but the nonsense never stops.

Isn't that the Papelbon injury?
Yep.  I thought the exact same thing.  It was indeed a subluxation.

His was transient and I believe they wound up determining there was no labrum damage, possibly based on it getting better after a relatively short time.  Luck's issue might be more severe.  Labrums are hard to read via MRI, and exploratory surgery would entail its own recovery period, so I'd not be surprised if they wait to see if it gets better.  Sounds like he's probably missing another week though.  Getting this many opinions also makes me think there's something potentially concerning in the MRI.  IANAMD, YMMV.

If Luck doesn't play in that Patriots/Colts game it may actually end up being 63-3.

at the end of the Jags game? Did that actually happen?

It's getting to the point where I can't tell where reality and the Onion ends with this team.

Does that mean he was not at practice, as in he was out, or that he was out practicing, taking snaps, throwing the football and handing off the football as QBs are wont to do?  The link leads me to the ESPN homepage.
