So disappointing. Why is there even a third-place match again?
I know Bradley didn't play his best today, but some other guys on the team really need to start stepping up. The team can't go as Bradley goes for the entire cycle.

Missing the chance to auto-qualify for Confed Cup sucks but FIFA rankings are pretty meaningless unless you can get into Pot A, which is a really steep climb for us anyway.BoSoxFink said:
Any home CONCACAF loss does suck, especially against a second-tier team we traditionally dominate. The playoff game feels about as must-win as it gets for a match unrelated to the WC.

- The US was outshot by Honduras (16-6), Haiti (21-6!!!), and Panama (13-8). They outshot Cuba (17-8) and Jamaica (20-10)
- JK put a lot of eggs in the Brooks/Alvarado basket. Hopefully this tournament has been a good learning experience for them because I tend to doubt they were the best pairing from a purely win-now perspective.
- Beckerman had, in my opinion, a great run for the US, but it's clearly over. It's time to adjust to that new reality. I said a week or two ago that the next 12-18 months are going to be rough for the USMNT at this position at times, I think that's still true.
- Speaking of Beckerman, this is the second straight tournament where JK failed to bring a backup DM. What gives?
- I feel as though there's something that's just not clicking with the offense, but I can't put a finger on what it is.
- Provocateur comment of the day: in 2011, Bob Bradley was fired for less. I think that's true and worth noting. I've always been lukewarm at best on JK but I'm not advocating for a change. There will be a bit more pressure to win the Confed Cup playoff in October, though. A loss there will be a morale-killer heading into WCQ.

I don't see any contact between the arm and the ball. Even if it was clear, it's extremely harsh.
BTW how the hell has CONCACAF not disciplined Mexico for their fan behavior yet? They're always terrible and getting worse, but unlike UEFA they never enact any discipline against the team so it continues.
There are no decent CONCACAF refs, they're all terrible to start with, and since the fans ate allowed to be crazy and throw shit they're easily intimidated into making bad calls.twoBshorty said:

Mexico proving that if you want to win in CONCACAF just make sure you bring lots of fans and pass out projectiles before the game.
What is the usual punishment for bad fan behavior? Do they make the team play in front of an empty stadium?
