Jamaica coach looks like the kind of college prof who would keep a bottle of wild turkey in his desk and pass it around to his students after class

I had a professor like that. But he was a programming professor, so I'm pretty sure it was weed, not crappy whiskey.

Pretty sure I just heard a "puto" chant. Guess the Mexicans are showing up.

Man, it would be hard to take losing by a goal created by a goalkeeper handling outside the box call.

Gordon dangerous.  And a great knockdown for that Bradley shot.  That's why he's here.

Bummed I'm not watching. Glad (sardonically) my disdain for Beckerman found new supporters.
I was one of the biggest anti Beckerman guys when he first started getting time in 2007-9. But he undeniably brings a stabilizing presence to that D and the team is better with him on the field. Mostly as it frees up Bradley.

Well Yedlin on. Lots of offensive pressure now.

That wasnt a foul???? - maybe not

Yeah, the role is critical, I'm just always bummed we can't find someone with the greater than 10' running radius to cover it.

Beckerman is basically the Mark Bellhorn of the USMNT - his weaknesses are things that people notice and his strengths are more subtle and often less appreciated.

Like Bellhorn, once physically decline sets it, it gets ugly fast.

My only chance of following this game is reloading this page. Can't get anything else to work on the awesome 3G connection I have here in Argentina.

Hoping there's OT that I can watch on a TV.

Evans seems like he has the skills to replace him, and has played DM before, but Klinsmann doesn't seem to want to try him there

Can we get Carli Lloyd on? Could get 2 goals in the remaining 5 minutes.

Evans has played a lot of CM for Seattle in years past, but generally alongside Osvaldo Alonso who has more of the DM duties.  Sigi uses him as a CB now.

We could take some lessons from Jamaica about how to manage the end of the game with a one goal lead.

That should just about do it.

So, of the three teams left, who do we root for to win -- I guess a Jamaica rematch in the play in game?

What the USA gets for not capitalizing on multiple chances within the six.
Jamaica capitalized and played a fairly solid game.

Unfortunate loss. There's a lot of nice pieces on this squad, but getting a sold XI out there is tough. JK needs to figure out how to maximize the good and minimize the bad. Not easy. Oh well, go Jamaica!

Well, this sucks.  Jamaica capitalized on chances and the US attack always looked a bit disjointed.  I thought that Jamaica would have success on the counter, but it was set pieces that did us in.

EDIT: apparently that's in an official game (non-friendly)
