You definitely do. But mainly I'm thinking about the media frenzy that would ensue if the Leafs won.scotian1 said:MoGator, What do you mean not Toronto? We need a number one centre and this would have turned our sorry team
I don't know about Bettman. Toronto as a market thrives regardless, he would probably rather have had one of his crap expansion/relocation markets get him. Arizona or Miami or Raleigh, one of those.BigMike said:McDavid was one of many screaming F**K when the Toronto Card was opened. This no doubt included Bettman, and most of the NHL officials in Toronto
I agree, someone should tell him that you can't lose what was never yours. Also, if he disagrees with the lottery, he should be less passive aggressive about it.scotian1 said:Boy surprised at Sabres GM Murray's press conference comments after the lottery. He may have some fence mending to do with Eichel.

Buffalo will not trade that pick. They tanked for a reason, they wanted to be guaranteed one of those two guys. They will take Eichel.AMcGhie said:I'm going to spend the next 2 months trying to figure out what to offer to Buffalo for the #2 pick.
Subban+#14+Future 1st?
Subban + Krug + #14?
Subban + Lucic + #14?
Feel free to call me an idiot for my quixotic idea.
If the Bruins pressed Buffalo to humor them with what it would take, i would guess it would start with Bergeron + Hamilton + the #14.AMcGhie said:I'm going to spend the next 2 months trying to figure out what to offer to Buffalo for the #2 pick.

14
Boston Bruins
Timo Meier, RW, Halifax (QMJHL)
Mathew Barzal, C, Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL): Missed several months with a cracked kneecap after being rated a top 10 prospect. Could still go higher. If Bruins take him, could be a dynamic partner for young winger David Pastrnak.
Nicholas Merkley, C, Kelowna (WHL)
The 5-11, 191-pound forward can play right wing or center, is strong on the power play and a dangerous sniper on the penalty kill (two shorthanded goals). He has a great compete level, plays a top-line role and led Rockets with 70 assists and 90 points in 72 games.
14) Boston Bruins: Oliver Kylington, Defenseman, Farjestad (SWEDEN) Stats: 35 GP, 6 G, 6 A, 12 P (between Farjestad and AIX) The Bruins need to play a more uptempo, speedier game and Kylington is a great choice for this style of play. He’s an excellent skater with a polished offensive game and the puck-moving skill to start the rush up ice quickly and cleanly.

No argument. I was more just making the point that it would take your best and then some to even open a conversation.BigMike said:
More like Hamilton, Pastrnak, and #14, plus 1 or 2 of 2016 #1 and Subban/McIntyre/Heinen
Bergeron is the Bruins best player, but I suspect not what Buffalo would be looking for

Trade I think they should consider is offering the # 2 to Chicago for Kane plus some futures. Bring the hometown boy home and it give Chicago some cap relief.

If this was what it took for the Bruins to get Eichel, I think I do it.veritas said:It would probably take multiple 1st rounders, Subban, and Pastranak. And I think both teams probably say no to that deal anyway.
Pastrnak, Hamilton & the 14th wouldn't get it done. Eichel is a potential elite talent on a ELC. Those guys have more value then any team would be willing to pay. Imagine if Buffalo offered the Bruins Myers, Kassian and their 2010 first for Seguin before he was drafted. The Bruins wouldn't that deal either.BoSoxFink said:If this was what it took for the Bruins to get Eichel, I think I do it.
Yea I was making the same point. I don't think that would be enough to get it done, which is why I said if I was the Bruins I would do it.Salem's Lot said:Pastrnak, Hamilton & the 14th wouldn't get it done.
