What is your point? Do you really think Reggie Wayne is "soft"?Papelbon's Poutine said:Well, shit. Morten Anderson played 25. That basically makes him like the Hulk or something, right?

Countermove is added depth at CB. Coleman is signed to the active roster from the Seahawks practice squad.
We already stole that at the Super Bowl. Keep up.wibi said:
Isnt it a little early to be signing a guy for a playbook?
No.( . ) ( . ) and (_!_) said:Does this feel like one of those inexplicable belichick roster moves to anyone else? Like bill put more weight on a fifth corner/special team player then he did for his starting center. I don't know every now and then he does something like that which seemingly defies logic.
The speculation is that Butler and Brown are the starting CBs in base with Brown moving inside for Fletcher in sub. Ryan was playing a lot in PSG4 and is probably a backup at this point. Wouldn't be surprised if we see all 4 though it's unlikely Butler comes off the field for more than a snap or two. Perhaps the same is true for Brown.McBride11 said:Maybe this is better served in the Steelers thread as some questions are specific to that game, but also applies to the rest of the season.
I know the secondary is probably the biggest ? followed by the Oline.
As far as I can tell the starting CB are Butler and Ryan with Fletcher and Brown being the next 2 in line? Or is Ryan the slot guy with one of Fletcher and Brown starting? Being an out of towner I am was unable to watch much pre-season action and have no real grasp on how good these guys are.
Of these 4 guys only Fletcher measures in at 6', the rest of 5-11'. We saw the problems in the SB of having to deal with a tall, jump ball type receiver and luckily we had Browner (6-4") to switch over and compete. Besides the overall untested-ness of this secondary, should we be concerned about the height issue? Do any of these guys have the ability to 'go up and get the ball' when dealing with taller receivers?
The Steelers WR measure in at Brown (5-10), Wheaton (5-11), Heyward-Bey (6-2), and Coates (6-2). Lucky that Bryant, the likely #2/3 receiver w Wheaton, (6-5) is suspended this game or that could be even more of a mismatch. WHile DHB never lived up the hype and Coates's hands are suspect, I wonder if they get more time to exploit size differences in this new untested secondary for NE.
They have eight linemen. I'm not sure a fifth corner vs a ninth lineman is inexplicable.( . ) ( . ) and (_!_) said:Does this feel like one of those inexplicable belichick roster moves to anyone else? WEEI was reporting on Monday that Stork thought he was going to play this week

Thought it was $10. Did we switch health plans and now have a higher copay???Marciano490 said:Damn, SF121, hope you can get that $20 back!

What about Incarcerated Bob?soxfan121 said:
It's all in the phrasing. It was $20 well spent.
I want it to be true, but @RapSheet is among the least reliable sources on the planet, just above Dr. David Chao and just below Baghdad Bob.
That would be surprising. Why would the patriots be interested in a guy who is not a polished route runner and has no experience adjusting routes or changing routes from thE WR position? When would he possibly get the needed experience and reps while on the patriots? I'm not sure this would make any senseSeoulSoxFan said:Hmmm. I can see BB kicking the tires here.
@ProFootballTalk Per source, Terrelle Pryor is staying at receiver. He has two workouts scheduled this week.
And Edelman (former QB) split wide.dbn said:How could any defense stop the Patriots with Brady at QB, Gronk at TE, Pryor in the slot, and Tebow at H-back?
Super Nomario said:Ragnarok725 wrote: Was that Easley back out there or was I seeing things?
The comment before that was "Huge 3 and out," so it must have been right after the three-and-out midway through the fourth (the only second half three-and-out). This time period is consistent with the other comments on the thread (Brady-to-Gronk 5 of 7, Steelers with 14 points, etc.). I just checked that sequence and Easley wasn't in. Given that those timestamps are from 11 PM and the Patriots had announced at 10 PM that he was out, the most plausible explanation is that you were seeing things.

Coleman takes up a roster spot for three weeks whether he's on it or not. He's not going to be the one.j44thor said:The roster exemption for blount expires today so some move is coming. Probably Coleman whom they signed off sea practice squad. Unless easley is hurt to the extent he goes on ir.
Didn't realize Coleman has to be on for three weeks, guess it has to be someone else. When do they have to announce the move by?amarshal2 said:Coleman takes up a roster spot for three weeks whether he's on it or not. He's not going to be the one.
Edit: obviously there are several guys it could be, the one I'm wondering about after last game is Hooman. Not sure what his role is with Williams, Chandler on and Mason getting reps at FB.
It's Eric Martinj44thor said:Didn't realize Coleman has to be on for three weeks, guess it has to be someone else. When do they have to announce the move by?
Martin was my second guess followed by Cadet. I guess BB doesn't want to break up the 4 TE package just yet.@FieldYates: Source: the Patriots have activated RB LeGarrette Blount to the 53-man roster & waived LB Eric Martin. Blount returns in Week 2.

WR Terrelle Pryor worked out for the #Patriots yesterday, a source said. No signing is imminent, though.
nighthob said:I always wondered why his agent didn't convince him to go this route at the outset. He had the speed and size to be a killer wideout, but the throwing accuracy to be a shitty QB.
He was a (supplemental) third-round pick as a QB, so I think it was pretty reasonable for him to give it a shot for a while.nighthob said:I mean obviously there would have been a learning curve, but QBs that make the switch early aren't bad at it, it's the guys that wait a few years like Pryor that wash out completely. But a 6'6" 245lb receiver with 4.4 speed? He could have been the non-homicidal Aaron Hernandez.
So long as he doesn't catch passes like Captain Hook.nighthob said:I mean obviously there would have been a learning curve, but QBs that make the switch early aren't bad at it, it's the guys that wait a few years like Pryor that wash out completely. Could be. I think a KT swap is just as likely. Also, the field.Corsi said:Pryor time?
