Yup. Just as gimmicky. Doesn't make for better college football.Watching the time-lapse field install is pretty cool.

I don't disagree. For me, college football is about the matchups and not the location. The matchups next week are weak. Hopefully, there will be a few upset alerts but I'm not expecting much.Watching the time-lapse field install is pretty cool.

UT went to South Bend last year. And got its clocked cleaned 38-3.I thought a great part of tonight's game was it was on campus and not at a neutral dome. Does UT go the ND next year?
The Gators are loading up on another solid non-conference cupcake parade of UMass, North Texas and Presbyterian this year. A small price to pay for LSU. The is the only prime game.UT went to South Bend last year. And got its clocked cleaned 38-3.
Texas has USC the next two years, then LSU for two, then Ohio State for two, then Michigan for two. Piggy is in there somewhere too. All home-and-homes.
That just means there's bound to be an upset or two.Given that there are 0 matchups of currently-ranked opponents in Week 2...nope.
Well I tend to agree they probably still make playoff if they run the table , and I think ND will still likely end up with a better final record than Texas, I just don't see a way ND runs the table. There are no sure thing losses, but there are about 5 or 6 teams that could beat them, and I sure don't see them as a great teamWhat a game. Great college football atmosphere. In terms of ND's postseason chances, it's not a terrible loss. 50-47. Double OT. First game of the season, on the road, with a crazy crowd. If ND runs the table after this, they're probably still in the playoff.
He really lowered the boom on that poor safety.Just watched that brutal run by Swoopes for the first down in OT. Gladiatorial carnage. It's like the QB situation went from butterknife to Swiss Army knife in the offseason.
Perhaps Clemson belongs alongside Bama -- not nearly as dominant in Week 1, but @FSU isn't looking as tough as it was a couple days ago, and the rest of the sked is as easy as it gets for a P5 team.Among all the teams we saw this weekend against more than token opposition (so Michigan and tOSU aren't in the discussion), was there anyone besides Alabama, and perhaps Houston (due to their soft schedule) that didn't look extremely likely to lose at least two games this season? I realize it's likely that three or four P5 programs will get a little lucky and assemble undefeated or one-loss seasons, but it seems even harder than usual to predict which programs will do that.
The absence of a CCG puts the Big XII at a disadvantage. Unless someone in that conference runs the table, I think there's room for a one-loss ACC champion -- especially if that one loss comes early.Getting way ahead of ourselves here. So if this ends 42-10 (just for argument's sake), and Ole Miss finishes 8-4 and FSU runs the ACC table, are the Noles in the conversation? Someone's gotta get left out of the power 5. My biased desire would be the ACC stays home.
Yup. Kept them (barely) alive for three more plays.Amazing catch
