Collinsworth just said the hardest thing to do in Football is to score a TD inside the 20 yard line. Pretty sure the stats are not going to back him up on that assertion.

A bit of hyperbole, yes, but those 20 yards are considerably tougher to get than 20 yards in the middle of the field, right?

Yes, the field does shrink vertically but as a generic data point, more TDs come from inside the 20 than outside I would think. I can't find the stat but I'd like to see the numbers.

What’s nice is that everybody was begging for more penalties and the league has delivered with flying colors.

Yup, until Wentz comes back, Foles and the Iggles offense is going to continuously get exposed as the frauds who somehow caught lightning in a bottle last year when it counted the most. Doug Williams once threw for 340 yards and 4td's in a Super Bowl too....Uggh......Malcolm Butler...Uggh.........

This is the worst kind of football; almost everything wrong with the game on display on that half. The only thing missing was someone almost dying on the field.

This is the NFL. It’s dreadful.

The only thing that saves it is when there are multiple games on and you can red zone channel it. When there is just the single game you realize this is what it is. Flags and ex refs trying to figure out whether the defender looked back at the right moment in slo mo.

Hell Jake Delhomme put up 323 and 3 TD in the SB against us. We’d have been wondering about that one forever too with a different flip of the coin. Time to get over it.

This game is wholly representative of what we've come to know as Thursday Night Football.
This. Thursday night football is just a putrid product. Has been since day one. Leave Thursday night to one good college game, and a few others to pass the time, and leave the NFL to Sundays and Monday night.

It also doesn't help that the Eagles offense blows, and the Falcons offense is terrible when you take them outdoors. The disparity between dome teams offenses outdoors vs. indoors continues to be one of the most glaring, yet ignored, trends in the NFL.

1987/88 - Doug Williams: 340 yds, 4 td, 1 int, 127.9 rating, Wash scores 45 points on Denver
1990/91 - Jeff Hostetler: 222 yds, 1 td, 0 int, 93.5 rating, NYG scores 20 points on Buffalo
1991/92 - Mark Rypien: 292 yds, 2 td, 1 int, 92.0 rating, Wash scores 37 points on a good Buffalo D
2012/13 - Joe Flacco: 287 yds, 3 td, 0 int, 124.2 rating, Bal scores 34 points on SF
2017/18 - Nick Foles: 373 yds, 3 td, 1 int, 106.1 rating, Phi scores 41 points on NE

It doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen. Frustrating when you're facing them, but that's why they play the games.

Thanks for letting me know it’s not worth tuning in. Not watching a minute of it seems to be the correct choice.

Usually it at least waits until week 2 when the teams are actually on a short week.

Amazing that Atlanta continues to be so much less than what it seems the sum of their parts should be on offense. Can’t imagine what McD would do with a core of Julio/Freeman/Coleman at skill positions.

I think the game will open up a bit this half but the penalties really are excessive.

It's unbelievable that there have been zero interceptions in this game. Half the passes are hitting defensive backs in the numbers.

If Atlanta loses Keanu Neal, you can officially erase their chances of getting to the playoffs for a 3rd season in a row. Their current streak of 2 in a row is the longest active playoff streak in the NFC, I believe, which is kind of amazing.
