Two early notes
—Wise looks to be off PUP as he’s in uniform.
—Brady has the day off. He came out late and not in uniform.

From Phill Perry's postcard:I didn't see much regarding Stidham yesterday. Anyone see any reports?
And why haven't we seen Bennett yet?
Jarrett Stidham found early success in his 11-on-11 work, hitting Stephen Anderson for a score. His next pass was broken up by Keion Crossen. It was intended for Lance Kendricks. Stidham's third drop-back was failed as the coverage forced him to hold onto the ball for an extended period of time.
* Final 11-on-11 goal-line tally for Stidham: 1-for-3
Well Yeah, We dont pay him to stand around during practice.Brady is out with the QBs as they run drills. He is helping the equipment guys run down footballs.
To be fair, Bell could play an important role in leading his team to a 50% increase in wins. No one on the Patriots is going to do that.Man I love me some Max Kellerman. His latest was picking Le'Veon Bell as the best player in the AFC East. The same Le'Veon Bell who hasn't played in a year, whose coach doesn't want him, and who finished 24th in yards per carry for qualified RBs in his last season.
Kellerman & Rob Parker are what I call the Human Clickpede. Same chain of circular BS for views and such. The lowest denominator of anyone on media talking about sports.Man I love me some Max Kellerman. His latest was picking Le'Veon Bell as the best player in the AFC East. The same Le'Veon Bell who hasn't played in a year, whose coach doesn't want him, and who finished 24th in yards per carry for qualified RBs in his last season.
Where is Meyers lining up? Are they working him as a big slot or is he getting more outside routes? He’s one of those guys that could have positional versatility. Just curious if you know.Brady on the side working with Harry, White, Michel, and....UDFA WR Jakobi Myers. Interesting that he’s progressed to this point. He’s made plays each of the first 2 days.
Giggity. Really interested to see what he has left.Michael Bennett is suited up and at practice for the first time today.
After practice, Bennett said he appreciated Bill Belichick for treating him like a human being while he needed to tend to a family matter at home. Bennett said he now wants to play harder for Belichick for giving him the extra few days to get to camp
Celtics coach Brad Stevens and forward Jayson Tatum watched practice from the sideline in the middle of the two fields. Belichick spent a few minutes with the pair at one point during positional drills.
While emotions rose and each side of the ball tried to impose its will on the other, on the opposite field Matthew Slater worked alone with a visiting coach.
While his practice schedule has steadily become more focused on special teams, Slater hasn’t taken part in any offensive drills or team periods this summer, which he says is a first. Most of the time, he doesn’t even waste time watching those sessions.
One of my recent tweets about how Slater spends his days prompted an NFL position coach to reach out: “He works on being a gunner the WHOLE practice?” Yeah, pretty much.
Chase Winovich is continuously noticeable. The guy is a tornadic ball of mayhem.
Jamie Collins continues to look outstanding. There’s so much to like about this group of linebackers. They’re deep, versatile and they make plays.
Dammit - Jamie Collins is sucking me back in. This really was a great addition for minimal cost. This LB group has the potential to be outstanding.
Yup. Injuries can and probably will ruin things a bit but only question I really have right now is off the edge. Confident that Bennett will be solid but will need someone else to step up. And we have some realistic targets in Wise, Winovich, and Simon. The Pats defense this year really has a strong potential to surprise to the upside. Each group has something to be excited about as we enter the season.
What's wrong with him? How does a guy with that size and scouting report, starting that many games at a big time program, go undrafted?Patriots signed OT Martez Ivey

6'5" 315 UDFA OL out of Florida. Former 5-star #2 overall recruit in the country. Started 44 games at Florida. According to reports, he's an athletic prospect who can make plays in open space. Good blocker in an outside zone running scheme.
I’m not sure what to make if it yet, but Howe and Bedard seem to have different opinions on various guys. Howe is more positive on Collins, has been impressed by Pennel, and thinks Karras could be a key back up across all positions. Bedard makes it sound like none of those guys are doing anything. Strange to see such divergent opinions, but maybe Bedard is feeling a bit stretched trying to cover the whole team while Howe has some help.
Was wondering the same thing. What's wrong with him? How does a guy with that size and scouting report, starting that many games at a big time program, go undrafted?
It's never a bad idea to feed Dante a talented guy with technique issues. Was wondering the same thing.
Sloppy and unathletic, according to this site. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/martez-ivey?id=32194956-4565-5015-c9d1-daed22234e78
Not entirely without hope though, it seems.
Bedard has praised Pennel as well. I thought he was a really good, under the radar signing at the time. The Pats' run defense was porous at times last season. Pennel should help there.I’m not sure what to make if it yet, but Howe and Bedard seem to have different opinions on various guys. Yeah. Not bad size and length and a coaching staff that seems to do ok by linemen. Can't hurt for a flyer. It's never a bad idea to feed Dante a talented guy with technique issues.
