That seems rather a non-analytical comment, to say you’d rather have a bases empty walk than a hit (implied single given the knock)? Walk assures the base, hit you could be thrown out on the bases.

What the A’s and Rays do with their budgets is impressive, but there will always be limitations to how far they can go in the postseason without those high priced, high WAR, impact players.
Point taken and agreed with, but I’d also add Holmes (eventually, probably late 2020) as a sneaky good piece they have in Vegas.
Umm, Meadows and Semien? 22nd and 32nd in wOBA. 11th and 19th and wRC+. Meadows 30th in REW, 11th WPA/LI, if you want crunch time.

Why are we using/discussing standard fucking FIP in 2019? God. A league constant when it came out was revolutionary when Voros came up with it 20 years ago. If Perpetua could make that stat, bbFIP, on his own level from Statcast, we can stand to do the same on a national level. Especially on the advanced broadcast.
