Is the entire NCAA tournament going to be played w/the same OT rules as last night (same as NHL regular season)?

Terrible, IMHO. Understand the game having some sort of limit but 3 on 3 for more than 5 minutes should do that. Shootouts in hockey are a joke.

no ncaa tournament overtime is 5 on 5. Just look at last years finals. 5 on 5 and Quinnipiac won it 10 seconds last year.

I do wonder if the Beanpot will change their OT rules or not. I'm thinking not since the games are nestled within the regular season so they would rather not overtax the players.

The NCAA changed the OT rules to 3-on-3 followed by a shootout so it's likely not going back.

Ale is correct. The “Midwest” regional sometimes has just one bidder, especially since the NCAA stopped taking bids from on-campus sites. I put Midwest in scare quotes because one year it was awarded to Allentown.

It does for the NCAA. Lindenwood presumably bid a lot of money to be a regional host. That or the NCAA threw them a bone because they recently moved up to D1 from club. The former seems more likely than the latter.

Why would you not take a bid from a campus site and then award the regional to an arena that hosts a school that plays all its games at said arena?

BC player on a breakaway, clearly hooked, no penalty shot given (when there most certainly should have been). Oh, well;, BC will have the power play just the same. Except...MI Tech scores a shorty, and what should have been at the very least a BC penalty shot instead turns into a 1-1 tie at the end of the first period. Robbery.

For being the #1 overall seed I was expecting an easier game today then what we're seeing. Still 1-1 in the 2nd. BU had an easy time of it yesterday.
