One of our older son's friends here in town started for four years at South Carolina, but one season was cut short by a major ortho incident. He transferred to Providence for grad school, but media accounts say that he still has two years of eligibility:
"announced his entry into the NBA Draft and the NCAA transfer portal in early April. He retains a potential two seasons of eligibility and has not signed with an agent. "

Yes, that is Justin Minaya. He’s the son of former Mets GM Omar Minaya. He entered last season having played 3 years at USC but only 2 of them counted toward his eligibility as one season was cut short by injury prior to the midway point of the season. So for eligibility purposes he played last year as a redshirt junior......but since all players received a “free year” he will return again as a junior with 2 years of eligibility remaining at Providence.Did the pandemic somehow give players an extra year of eligibility?

A very surprising move. Another assistant and the director of ops also left earlier in the offseason along with an athletic department staff member that worked closely with men's basketball.

Which school is "Bleed Red's" that is perhaps looking to move to another league? I could see Stony Brook moving over to the CAA to join their football team; that's about it from that group.Red- any word on the America East conference moves? I know Hartford is dropping to DIII. With questions about UVM, and your school rumored to be looking at a bigger conference, are they a dead man walking?
