The Rams are learning the hard way now that all the flash isn't worth it in the long run.
They signed / traded for so many big name players. Now it feels like their run is already over. The Rams are learning the hard way now that all the flash isn't worth it in the long run.
They just signed Leonard Floyd and A'Shawn Robinson to big money. They are just like that one crazy owner in your fantasy league who is just making tons of moves every year regardless of whether or not they're consistent or make sense. The Rams are learning the hard way now that all the flash isn't worth it in the long run.
Rams should have made the deal with the Texans for Hopkins instead of the Cardinals. Probably could have sent them both there at full price.
Flacco is an intriguing option if he's willing to sign for peanuts and be the backup.View: https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1240679664521220098
Broncos just informed former Super-Bowl MVP Joe Flacco that he is being waived with a failed physical designation, per source. Flacco now joins a group of free-agent QBs looking for work. Three Super Bowl MVPs in headlines this week: Flacco waived, Foles traded, TB to TB.
Great weapon off the bench to try and get a desperate DPI.Flacco is an intriguing option if he's willing to sign for peanuts and be the backup.
If he plays things right, he has a chance to be an elite backup.View: https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1240679664521220098

Oh, God, no. Not even if he's willing to sign literally for peanuts. I draw the line at having to root for Flacco.Flacco is an intriguing option if he's willing to sign for peanuts and be the backup.
Floyd can slide right into the Littleton role. Littleton was fantastic last season, so maybe Floyd can’t match that production. But he has a similar skill set and athleticism. They just signed Leonard Floyd and A'Shawn Robinson to big money. $10.5 MM was going to become fully-guaranteed today. Woof, that was a bad contract.
It's always possible, but he's always been solid and he was apparently injured last year. Maybe they can do something to get a smaller cap hit.Waiting to see who the Pats release. Any Sanus?
No he and Jay Mohr are both out of workWhoa.
Rams release Gurley.
Didn’t play enough games to qualify for overall rankings, but PFF likes him. Would have been top 10 in their safety rankings with very good coverage grades and decent run grades.Charles Robinson @CharlesRobinson

A team source tells Yahoo Sports that Pro Bowl safety Adrian Phillips has agreed to a two-year deal with the #Patriots.
Ebner replacementPhillips was a Pro Bowler on special teams, not D.

Except for Aaron Donald, yes. A lot of mind boggling decisions. What a stupid franchise the Rams are. None of what they did in 2018-2019 is defensible.
They're going to be post Jamarcus Raiders for a while.
So no RB from the 2015 draft is with his team, it made me wonder if James White is the longest-tenured RB with his current team. It looks to me like he is the only RB from the 2014 draft still with his drafting team. However, Gio Bernard was drafted by the Bengals back in 2013. I think that's it though.

Especially when Sony is a guy with a chronic knee issue as well. Drafting a running back is a total waste of a pick IMO as quality ones can be found anywhere in the draft.Kinda makes the Michel pick look even weirder IMO
There are two ways to look at it, I think: when you draft a RB, you're not getting a ten-year career. On the other hand, it makes sense to draft running backs because almost all their value is on their rookie contract. Better that than chasing veteran RB contracts. Draft 'em, use 'em, let 'em go in FA.Kinda makes the Michel pick look even weirder IMO
I agree with you, but much better value in the 2nd round and beyondThere are two ways to look at it, I think: when you draft a RB, you're not getting a ten-year career. Probably, but Michel was the 31st pick, so he's basically a second-rounder anyway. I think the larger issue is they missed the eval with his knees, and rather than his best years being on his rookie contract, his best years were in Athens, GA.I agree with you, but much better value in the 2nd round and beyond
How much will Sony make years 1-4 vs 33rd pick? Just curiousProbably, but Michel was the 31st pick, so he's basically a second-rounder anyway. Sony's deal was 4/$9.6M. The 33rd pick signed for 4/$7.6M.How much will Sony make years 1-4 vs 33rd pick? Just curious
Thanks. Kind of crazy that 2 picks makes a 20% difference.Sony's deal was 4/$9.6M. The 33rd pick signed for 4/$7.6M.
Except with Sony you get the 5th year option where you don't get that with the 33rd pick.Sony's deal was 4/$9.6M. The 33rd pick signed for 4/$7.6M.
And they thought they were on the brink of a great, long run in 2019. They didn't even get one title out of that. Heh.The Rams put on a masterclass in how to yolo and figure it out later. Made basically every move counter to what good roster and cap management should look like. Experts in buying high and selling low
Committed long term to an average QB that was propped up by an elite RB and surrounding cast.
Committed long term to a RB with known knee issues.
Traded every first round pick they’ve had since 2016.
Trading away 2 (2!!) first round picks for a CB that’s going to demand a record setting contract.
If Bill O’Brien weren’t in the NFL, this would be a contender for the worst roster management in football.
