Yesterday, 4 pm tee time at my club, myself wife and son -- walking. We are behind a foursome playing a ladder match, all with carts. When they teed off, they had a group ahead of them, but by 3rd hole that group was over a hole ahead, and 3 holes by the end of the nine. We were waiting to hit on every hole. On 8th, a par three, the group behind us (also walking) actually met us on the tee as the foursome finished putting out. That being said, we still played the nine in 2 hours, which is not awful. We just would have done it in 1:40 or so without the blockage.
Our course has been really busy, but I think it'll thin a bit with the state opening up things and people go back to work locations.
Clears, are you looking to join Patterson, or just play it? I've vaguely heard of it. It's an old GE created club. Course looks nice, and seems family friendly. Initiation is in line with expensive Fairfield County standards.
In COVID related new. the CT Dept of Economic and Community Development (DECD) has authorized this tweak to the golf cart rules allowing a divider in a power cart:
The divider must be fitted into the entire area of the cart from the windscreen to the floor to the inside roof, between the seating area and into the back of the cart to provide a complete barrier between the driver and passenger, as well as the equipment of both players. The divider must be fixed and attached, and along with the entire cart, must be sanitized after each use. During each use, the driver of the cart must remain the only driver at all times. Once out of the cart and in open space, the driver and passenger must continue to maintain social distancing at a minimum of 6 feet.
The CT golf lobby did put in to get allow a members of same household in same cart exception under best practices. Seems if it's OK to share meals together, drive to course together , and occassionally swap body fluids together, it would be OK to ride in a cart outdoors together. That DECD cart divider rule clearly was conceptualized by people who don't play a lot of golf.
