Imagine eagling holes at 11? Imagine being on TV, golfing, at 11? The kid is impressive.Charlie just roped a 5-wood draw from 175ish around a corner to 4 feet on 3. Finishes off the putt for an eagle.
edit: apparently they used his drive too so an own ball eagle for the kid
His first ever eagle. Very cool moment.Imagine eagling holes at 11? Imagine being on TV, golfing, at 11? The kid is impressive.
If only Tiger could drive it straight like Charlie. His first ever eagle. Very cool moment.
He was very impressive. They used almost all his drives. He hits it 225 and with a 100-150 yard advantage in tee boxes there was no point in Tiger hitting drives. Charlie also flagged on at 16 for a birdie.
A little anecdote from today with those guys.Tiger says Charlie has a lot of the same”feels” that he does. They go out and hit different shots and just have fun. He’s so young he hasn’t really been coached yet. Sounds like they hang out and play with the Thomas’ quite a bit so I think Tiger said Mike Thomas has helped Charlie a bit here and there but that’s it.
Team Woods drew a pairing alongside Justin Thomas and his dad Mike. Justin had hit his ball in a bunker off the tee. Charlie dropped a note next to it that simply read, in all caps, “DRAW HOLE!”
It wasn’t Charlie’s (or Tiger’s) handwriting, but that of Mike Thomas. He had dropped that exact piece of paper behind Charlie’s ball in the pro-am after Charlie hit it through the fairway. Team Thomas was playing in front of Team Woods that day.
“In typical Woods fashion,” Justin said, “he kept the piece of paper, and when my dad hit it in the bunker he took that same exact piece of paper and put it behind his ball. Little bit of karma.”
