Coco is in the final. Becomes the youngest player since Sharapova in 2004 to reach a Grand Slam Final.

Coco is 0-2 vs Swiatek. 6-7, 3-6 at the 2021 Italian Open, and got 3-6, 1-6 in Miami this year. I'd love to think she comes out with a 'nothing to lose' type mentality, though that's far easier said than done. Unfortunately if the nerves get to her to start and the Swiatek train starts rolling downhill, not sure I see a way for Coco to stop it?

Coco is still in the doubles too, an all-American semi tomorrow, Gauff/Pegula vs Keys/Townsend.

Zverev breaks first. Impressive from him, he showed everything that's required to beat Rafa on clay: hitting clean and deep with the backhand, and no errors from the forehand.

Good piece of trivia is: who is the only other player besides Djokovic to defeat Nadal at the French Open?

Federer, if he successfully rehabs his knee, will be back by August or September.

We may not see another Federer v Nadal match again. That would be so, so sad.

Hadn’t been paying attention. Pretty impressive for Coco. But not looking good now. Swiatek to serve for the title.

The mucky muck
Iga is on a completely different level than the other women right now. Kind of wish Barty was still playing. Would love to see those two going head to head.

Nadal not playing great for him but still wins the first set fairly easily, 6-3.

He probably can still be off his game and win this in straight sets.
Dunno, he looks like he is on fumes honestly. He needed to finish the break in the first game of the second set, I think (he had three break points but made some bad errors).

Now Nadal is broken at love, 3-1 Ruud in the second.

Nadal breaks back, Ruud is not playing well either. There are strong winds, maybe that is some of it, but also Ruud seems to be affected by the occasion (his first GS final) and playing his hero.

Yeah, that was an incredible game by Nadal, Ruud on the brink here.

Nadal wins the second set 6-3. This one is just about over. Nadal blowing a 2 sets lead at Roland Garros would be the biggest shock in sports history.

7 straight games now for Nadal, he was vulnerable early on in this match but he is playing incredibly now.

Ruud is battling, hitting some great shots, but Nadal finds a way to win every single game. 8 in a row now, 3-0 in the 3rd.

Nadal is 36, Ruud is 23, but you couldn't tell from this match, Nadal seems to win every extended point.

It's very considerate of Nadal to wrap this up before the ridiculous 11:30 AM start for the Yankees.

Ruud gave up. This is the issue with these young guys in these matches. Mentality-wise, they're not there. How does Ruud give up when he's 24 and Rafa is 36?

Nadal had a brutal road to win this, he had to beat #9 FAA, #1 Djokovic, #3 Zverev, and #6 Ruud (next week rankings).

What a treat it's been to be able to watch Fed and Rafa (Djoker is a god but he's also easy to root against). I'm stunned a man is only one slam away from Serena and two from Court. Never thought that was possible yet here we are. ¡Vamos!

Biggest question will be if nadal will play Wimbledon to try to keep the grand slam in tact.

It would be great if he does, Novak not playing right? I guess Rafa is doing some type of therapy on the left foot and hopeful. Geez he had his left foot "frozen" with injections this match. How does he do this?

112-3 at Roland Garros is utterly insane. I think the only loss he would want back is the one to Robin Soderling in 09. The other two are against Djokovic so no shame in losing to another all timer.
