Yeah, thanks for the stat. It didn't look all that long to me (Kay exaggerating). The guy who had a really exaggerated stride for a not so big guy was Tim Lincecum.Statcast has his extension as 84th percentile, so he's certainly up there in terms of how close to the plate his release point is.
It's release point more than stride length, but yes, this is why his stuff has played up his whole career.David Robertson in for the Phil's. Kay says he's got the longest stride of any MLB pitcher (at 5'11"?). Now I'll be watching pitchers' stride lengths for a week.
I don't care who wins this series but whoever wins this game has to win tomorrow, if only to save us from a third game of Kay-Rod.“Your biggest home run threat even though Schwarber has 46.”
I love when A-Rod contradicts himself in the same sentence.
Heh, I was going to say I doubt that is still true, but it was true for a few years back when he was a Yankee and someone told Kay that on the YES broadcast.Statcast has his extension as 84th percentile, so he's certainly up there in terms of how close to the plate his release point is.
The two of them make me take deep breaths and exhale hard.I don't care who wins this series but whoever wins this game has to win tomorrow, if only to save us from a third game of Kay-Rod.
Well, you made me look, at any rate. I sort of hate these predictions which sound like descriptions because I am watching the other game.Harper going deep here.
Yea they probably want Flaherty, who's of course normally a starter. They are trying to get extra time for the guy coming in.
Yeah, Kay said halfway or a little closer.i think standard depth was the play.Looked like mid way to me.
He is a Muppet, isn't he?Kurkjian is the opposite of everything I said earlier about Glanville. He should only be a guy down on the field who you hear from once every inning or two. His constant trivia hammering is exhausting – especially delivered in the tone of a muppet.
Yeah- it’s a playoff game and 4.30 on a Friday….maybe stay an extra 15 minutes.Wow, look at those "best fans in the game" streaming out of the park. Yikes.
Yea, I'm looking over at Castillo throwing these 100mph sinkers and it's just astounding.Man, those overlays showing release point and movement make it just astounding that hitters can hit these pitches.
