What does Klay’s corpse have to do with Draymond’s impact?
To add context. The Warriors lost that first game in Memphis w Draymond coming off the bench. The other 3 losses were by 1-pt and two OT losses. End of game possessions determined whether they were 6-4 or 9-1 (or in between). Maybe the Warriors need to find a closer?
Their record in close games (2-9 in games decided by 3 points or less!) is remarkable considering they have Steph Curry.
They were overdue for this, but the last 10 games has been an incredibly soft schedule for them. Yesterday's win over Indy was their first against a decent team. The other five were over Atlanta, Memphis, Brooklyn, and two over Philly (once without Embiid, once with a severely limited Embiid). Losses to Memphis, Sacramento, Atlanta and the Lakers, so really just three games against teams over .500 in their last 10 (and the Lakers barely clear that bar). It's about to get a lot tougher - in their next 12 games, they play Denver, Boston, Milwaukee, Phoenix, Knicks, Lakers and the Clippers, plus two against Utah, their most direct rival for a play in spot.
I think it's more likely than not they grab a play in spot with Draymond behaving and Kuminga breaking out (they shouldn't need Klay to pull his weight to finish 10th), but we'll know a lot 4 weeks from now. They cannot survive a Steph injury.
