The main reason why I haven't enjoyed that much of this round of the playoffs so far: early blowouts suck.

Game 1, Diamondbacks at Dodgers: Diamondbacks score 6 in the first inning.
Game 2, Rangers at Orioles: Orioles score first, but Rangers score 9 runs in the second and third innings.
Game 2, Twins at Astros: Twins take 3-0 lead in the second inning.
Game 2, Phillies at Braves: Phillies take a 3-0 lead in the third inning.
Game 2: Diamondbacks at Dodgers: Diamondbacks score 3 in the first inning.
Game 3, Astros at Twins: Astros score 4 in the first inning.

Combined with all the sweeps in the Wild Card round, and it's been mostly been a snooze so far. Hopefully that changes.

It’s hard to take games on Fox and TBS fully seriously, even the great games feel second-tier somehow. During the regular season we’re all bummed if our team has just one nationally televised game, the postseason is all of them and it sucks.

Byron Buxton activated, Kiriloff onto the IL.

Imposing fundamentally different schedules on teams in the 5 days leading up to a best of 5 series is bullshit. It's not that it deterministically favors one situation/team vs. the other. It just mandates an apples-to-oranges in each and every series. I fucking hate it. If you don't, good for you. But it is the very definition of "unfair" - it is inequitable.
I think you're arguing to make the number of games each team plays in the first round more equal?

MLB could add or subtract two wildcard teams. Do you think the Orioles would have preferred to have played an additional series against the Mariners or NYY? Or they could have started with a series against the Rays (if MLB eliminated two playoff teams). If asked two weeks ago, I think almost every MLB observer would have preferred to play Texas, with their rotation out of sequence, over the Rays and I can't imagine adding another series would help Baltimore's odds of making it through to the World Series.

(Maybe a true round robin tournament, with equal rest time, and games at neutral stadiums, would be equitable?)
Honestly, I'm not sure what I'm arguing for. Opening up the field for 3 WC's has gummed up the works, IMO. I kinda like your neutral field idea.
This is definitely one of those in the eye of the beholder things. I've been entertained as heck this post-season and haven't perceived an unfairness, but I can see opposite sides.

I think the reason it's hard to figure out what to argue for is that we only get a small sample size each year, and so it's easy to imagine that a change to a different method could have unintended consequences in a future year.

But really the fundamental problem is this: If you want a playoff in pretty much any sport, the ideal set up is always going to be 8 teams or 16 teams. Any plan that tries for something greater than 8 but fewer than 16 has warts, and nobody ever has an answer that solves all problems.

I'd have to think about more, but believe I'm pretty firmly opposed to 16 getting in in baseball. And I think whatever my opinions might be on 8, that ship has sailed so it's a waste of time for me to worry about it. That means we're kind of destined for less than ideal, and it's only a matter of degree.

These are ungodly power numbers for someone with 70 steals
Interestingly he and Betts both had 8.3 fWAR and Betts was ahead in bWAR 8.4 to 8.1. Presumably the difference is that Betts spent significant time playing 2B and some time at SS and not just RF like Acuña.

I can’t stop laughing over a slow .197 47 leadoff hitter (for multiple reasons) but obviously understand the OBP reason

Imagine if you told someone 30, 60, 90 etc years ago this will be the stats of a leadoff hitter
(Why not hitting 9th why not hitting 7th why not hitting 4th etc)

He'd probably have been hitting 5th or 6th because of his HRs and RBIs.

The camerawork made both of these HRs this inning look like moonshots. Just 373 / 408 feet. (Although Harper scorched that one)

I think this one is over

But not necessarily good for the Phillies as a large margin May incentivize Braves to hit Harper next at bat for the throat slash

Another blowout early. Jeez, I suppose it’s fun for your team but for the reasonably neutral fan, it takes the excitement out of the game. But that being said, go Phils, I suppose.

When are managers going to learn to put in a good reliever in these spots in the postseason? You can't let it get worse with a crappy guy like Tonkin.

Snitker let this inning get totally out of hand.

Went back and looked at that double by Realmuto in the last half innning. Rosario got a bad jump/read on a catchable ball I think. Cost his pitcher two runs.
