It's an embarrassment to the league a team as talentless as the heat made the conference finals.

I dont want to hear shit about the eastern conference being better than the west for a long ass time. Garbage roster almost top to bottom just made the east finals.

The chances of the Lakers losing just went up. Why would the NBA settle for one game 7 if they can have two?
The way the refs called the beginning of the 4th quarter I was thinking they wanted to will the Knicks to a game 7, but it was not meant to be.

The flagrant-1 standard of "unnecessary contact, regardless of intent", is just so stupid and fungible. Isn't all contact resulting in a foul call, by definition, "unnecessary"? Like, they already called a foul. The officiating expert they got out there just confidently asserts it is or isn't, with no standard or even some guidelines to go on. Do YOU, sir, find it to be unnecessary? Why yes, I do! Therefore it's a flagrant.

Embarrassment? They're playing well at just the right time, and they've earned it. Jimmy Buckets is a playoff monster.

They also have the best coach in the league by a country mile.

Butler and Adebayo are pretty good.. Lowry too at times. I think they did just happen to run into a hobbled Bucks team and an inexperienced semi talented Knicks team. I think the Sixers and the Celtics are both better.

I hate the Heat, but generally speaking, when teams make long playoff runs and overachieve their talent level it's not really something that rises to the level of being an embarrassment.

If I am a Knicks fan, I am simultaneously disappointed and also kind of stoked on the future. They are relevant again and the NBA needs that.

On the other hand, New York, all of its sports teams and fans are trash people - they deserve nothing but sports misery.

I would love to hear the reasoning for only Schroeder to get a technical in that dust up

Taunting?

Edit- not saying I agree, but I would argue that was the reasoning. Like a DB in football standing over a WR and shouting down at him.

Edit2- loved Van Gundy calling out what we all have been saying.

Had an open kickout the whole way, really had the blinders on there.
It was Josh Hart though and as Brunson knows better than everyone else in the world, Hart is somewhat inexplicably scared to shoot most of the time in the halfcourt. He does like the big threes at the end though, really a shame that Brunson couldn't get it to him.

Remember when Barkley lightly criticized Klay and Klay had that teary eyed press conference and everyone jumped in and talked about how out of line Barkley was?

If Klay continues to play like this, Barkley was way too nice to him

The Heat had a better regular season record than the Warriors and were one win better than the Lakers.

Was listening to Joe Beningo sp? yesterday.. as he was talking about the teams he follows.. he's a Knicks, Jets and Mets fan I believe.. in any case... he's 70 now. Jets won a championship when he was 15 and I believe he said they've hosted seven playoff games since then. Seven. And won the division twice since then. All his teams won in 68-70..and have basically done nothing since (other than that one in 86).

Since then, the Lakers have got healthy and the Warriors have got Wiggins back. The Heat have lost their 3rd best player.
Situations really aren’t comparable

Thank you!

This is exactly the sequence that NY went out on the last time they got to the second round, in 2013, the Melo/Chandler/JR Smith #2 seeds. They also had home court in that series (against #3 IND and George/Hibbert), lost game 1 at home, the next 5 were all won by the home team with a tight game 6 on the road to eliminate them. Still an amazing year, I thought getting the #5 seed behind 4 clearly better teams was an achievement but they destroyed CLE and at least pushed this to six, Quickley has been such a key piece for them all year.

Do we know if Herro has any chance of coming back? This MIA team is legit, so smart and well-coached and Butler and Adebayo are playing incredible, and all the role players make the right play every time it seems.

Miami teams seem intent on proving that the regular season doesn’t matter in both hockey and basketball
