There will be takes when this is over. This is the most important game of the Celtics season in some ways: mainly because its the next game on their schedule.

Win, please and thank you.

Another regular season game turns lame. The wait for the playoffs at this point is like the wait for Christmas Day when you're a kid and the calendar hits 12/1. Are we there yet?

How big a Celtics win is big enough to overcome the "But there was no Giannis" takes? 40? 50? 60?

Whatever we lost by in January, I guess. Which was... 33? Yikes. I'm changing my vote to "to hell with the takes, haters gonna hate, just stay healthy and ideally win the game".

Giannis better be ready for our 4/9 game, dude's gonna get both barrels from us.

Left knee tendinopathy is the injury, he was out on Sunday as well.

Whether that's a real injury or veiled load management is another question entirely

Thanks. I got to start paying attention to the rest of the NBA.

The NBA thread here has so many posts, it's hard to be caught up.

Considering they lost to the Lakers without LeBron and AD… whatever. Just win and knock 2 games off the magic #
That's actually where I am. I find the hot-take machine amusing. (mostly because I only know what it's spewing from here. I think the only national non-game action I've seen this season was halftime of a recent ESPN game where there was much doomsday droning about something other than the Celtics leading by 40 points at halftime.) I dont get angry at the likes of Perkins or Smith any more than I get angry at the neighbor's dog for shitting on my lawn. Or at clouds for dropping rain. It's what they do.

Sam Perkins was my favorite non-Celtic (Avery etc.) Laker
He does TV now?

Even including playoffs, Giannis has played more total minutes so far this year (2,240) than last year (2,115). Even if the #1 is out of reach, I'm sure they still want as high a seed as possible (and definitely don't want to slip to 4/5 and get the Celtics in round 2), but they need to start getting him as much rest as possible. He really hasn't been an ironman in recent seasons (he missed an average of 15 games per season from 2021-2023), and he's averaging more mpg than he has since 2018.

Hmmm

maybe the Celtics should lay down tonight to make it easier for Bucks to stay at 3?

I don’twant them in Rd 2 (although at this pointI shouldwelcome all comers)

we want the Celtics to beat the stuffing out of everyone in their way

let all these lower seeds fight it out for 82 games

If the Celtics don’t make it out of the East it will be an epic, catastrophic failure regardless of who they face and in what round.

Perhaps the rest of the league is trying to find out if “Resting your All-NBA players against the Celtics” is the new inefficiency.

Whatever. Let Jan 11 fuel your rage! Bash the Bucks!

F Giannis for not caring about the 3 seed and being a baby who gets every foul call

I just had the misfortune to learn that Felger will be at the game tonight - probably decked out in Bucks gear. In better news it sounds like his kids are Celtics fans.

Giannis plays through a lot of shit. So the fact he isn't playing and that he's had achilles soreness would be freaking me right the fuck out if I were a Bucks fan.
