I had a rough game thread last night and got dangerously close to JulE6 territory, so I haven't been in here much tonight... but I just don't know at this point. It's gotta be hard to play hard when every time you do things right it gets swept out from underneath you by the atrocious officiating.
If there was ever a night for Claude to roast Toronto and take the fine, it's tonight. This team, unsurprisingly, is demoralized. Claude needs give them a "it's the guys in this room against everybody" boost.
We said that last night too. He called a penalty bull shit and that was that. He'll make a comment but he won't go nuclear.
It's just calling what we're all seeing. They're not competing. They shrink at adversity. And now they're quitting. I'm sure they'll be bitching about the refs or the league or whatever but the fact is they're not competing like a team that wants to play in the playoffs.
I would love to see him just go nuts and throw sticks. Instead he'll just give the patented Frank Beamer who farted look
I agree, Nap. This team is mentally soft. Very discouraging game all around. Just not enjoyable.
No, it's not. The Bruins have had an almost impossible power play differential for a number of years as well. Unless you think there's no normalization possible from year to year with this stuff, they get fucked, pretty much mathematically.

How does this change? Is the guy in the suit behind the bench a factor in how the guys wearing stripes call the game? It's frustrating because changing the play on the ice isn't the answer. Solid play is leading to a dumpster fire of results penalty wise lately and it sucks.
The thing i dont understand is what motive there is to the constant fucking the refs are giving the Bruins. They are a big market team, large fan base, and missed the playoffs last year so its not even like a Pats situation bred from jealousy.
Reputation of the Big Bad Bruins. Even though they might still be big (Hayes, Z, Seids, McQuaid) they aren't that bad unless you count the decline of Z and Seids as being "bad". In which case they very much are. But ref's shouldn't care about that. But they apparently do.
