Tatum is 31 points away from 2,000. It'd be his third-straight year reaching 2,000. I wonder if he plays enough minutes over the next three days to accomplish the feat.

NY needs to go 2-1 to clinch the 3rd spot and 3-0 to have a chance at 2nd, so they definitely will be going hard in this one.

Sorry to go there, but might it help the Cs to not go completely all out to win this game? It might be nice to have the Knicks be the 2 or 3 seed and thus on the other side of the bracket.

They are at close to 100% health with the exception of Randle and would probably be a tough physical opponent. Brunson could win a game or two by himself by going supernova. The Cs should win a series against them but it would likely be draining and it could be a might be better to face them later rather than sooner.

To avoid any doubt, I am not suggesting that the Cs tank this game. I could have phrased it better.

As Joe has said, it's more important to bring the mentality to every game that you're going to out there and kick some ass. Brad can dictate who plays or who doesn't, but for the guys who play, I expect Joe will be trying like hell to win, will get his guys to try like hell to win, and frankly they should be. When they're on the court I want them ready to bring playoff level focus and intensity.

And frankly, this is the only opponent who's going to give us a game in the next 9 days. Even if we sit 3 of the big 6, the others have a chance to play a motivated and skilled opponent, and I hope they seize that opportunity.

Sure Brunson might be able to win a game by himself by going supernova (although if anyone has the guys to defend him, it's BOS). But so couldn't Dame / Giannis / Mitchell / Halliburton / Embiid / Maxey / Trae Young? :)

Guessing this is the last tune up before the playoffs. Bench is going to be emptied on the B2B tomorrow and probably the final game against WAS as well. Stay healthy.

Amazing how last game the Bucks didn't foul the Celtics once in the act of shooting *cough cough, eyeroll.*

That was by far the best the State farm jingle has been sung by an athlete.

Buying the Brunson flop so annoying.

Edit: OK they made up for it not calling the flop the other way.

They seem like they're going half speed - which I don't mind, really. When they turn it up, it's obvious. I do worry about rust for going full tilt in the playoffs, but my nerves will find something to worry about either way.

I know it's a meaningless game, but if they're just going to half-ass everything, give the bench some run. I'd love to see Queta now (if he was available), to stop giving up the offensive rebounds.

Sorry Tatum basically at a full stop yet Brunson goes down like he was going full speed that’s a flop and a T.

Did the starters take the 2nd quarter off, too, knowing they'd sit the second half?

Games that don't matter suck. Pre-season games are more important.

Call the game meaningless all you want, but this is embarrassing. They are playing everyone at home and getting run out of the building.

I don't see the Celtics losing many games in the EC playoffs BUT this would be the Knicks/Heat playbook.

Celtic Turnovers + offensive rebounds

I know these games don't really matter, but the Celtics have looked like trash since the second half of the first game against the Hawks. Hope they can flip the switch back.
