Iggy signed with the Padres.
I can't figure why the Sox didn't go after him.

Hamilton is the better defender. I'd prefer to see him, especially with Kike at short.I looked up the Red Sox depth chart, the majority of middle infielders are on the IL. Really I would try Dalbec there.
It's worked for other guys, Max Muncy has a pretty low swing % too. He's also prone to go through droughts where his walks keep his OBP viable while he's not making much contact, then he'll get hot and hammer the shit out of everything.Maybe it is just me but I find it a bit sad that a hitter with power of Casas is always looking to walk.
I find it refreshing. For the past couple of years we've had basically nobody interested in drawing walks. Just flailing at crap. (Of course it helps if the Ump isn't terrible).Maybe it is just me but I find it a bit sad that a hitter with power of Casas is always looking to walk.
Me too. Guy is top 20 or whatever in BB rate. It's gonna come with some called strikeouts.I find it refreshing. For the past couple of years we've had basically nobody interested in drawing walks. Just flailing at crap. (Of course it helps if the Ump isn't terrible).
Saved a run, at least for now. Probably should have gone to first, though.Valdez? Valdez!!
Agreed. .340 OBP over his last 50 PAs - with his average - is indicative of a very mature approach at the plate. The hits will come.Me too. Guy is top 20 or whatever in BB rate. It's gonna come with some called strikeouts.
Tyler Wells is……..Tanner Houck is straight-up mowing pricks DOWN!
who is this idiotTime to jump on Wells. The guy throws horrible slop and this lineup should demolish him the second/third thru the order.
Things I learned recently: Cedric Maxwell got his nickname because a teammate thought he looked like Jamaal WilkesCornbread Mullins owns the Sox
Although it'd be nice if they started now...Agreed. .340 OBP over his last 50 PAs - with his average - is indicative of a very mature approach at the plate. The hits will come.

Gotta disagree. Only one of those pitches -- the eighth -- was definitely a strike. The rest were way way inside. If Arroyo could lay off anything the bases would have been juiced with one out.Solid AB here regardless of outcome
