How many Angels fans will be there in the outfield this weekend. Don't think that many. Have they given up on their team after Ohtani went north?

WIsh I was in Loseland this weekend. Parking for those games is easy.

No, Ale. Angels stadium parking sucks. The highways get jammed coming and going and the one huge lot is poorly set up. When did you last drive to a game here?

In a game we attended there on a SoCal trip, before the rockpile in left field, Jim Rice hit one over the LF wall, simply into the night, for the win. This feels a little like part of a Lynn-Rice poem, but I'll leave that to his great skill.

I know it's only a game thread, but the rest of us have no interest in a petty argument over parking at Anaheim Stadium (or whatever it's called).

I believe there is a commuter rail stop out past the parking lot behind CF. When I was there a few years back, there was also a trolley-bus for the "Resort at Anaheim" that circulated among the stadium, Disneyland entrance, hotels & convention center, and restaurant row in the vicinity.

I honestly want to know where to park if not in the main lot. I could always know where my car was parked in proximity to the Big A sign.

These 5 hours are gonna go slow, thankfully there is basketball (W & Celtics) to keep us busy

It's going to be around 50 at game time. Plus it's the home opener. Should have been a day game. It will be interesting to see the attendance since they have had a terrible off season fan-wise.

Simplicio beat me to it, but we have a chance to share the lead tonight, so we might as well make the most of it.

Based on the off-season threads, it's hard to believe that there is a decent shot that by Monday (assuming the first few games weren't a mirage), the Sox will have:
- at least a share of the division lead
- the best xFIP/WAR/ERA in the majors as a pitching staff
- a top-5 run differential in the majors

I believe. Make it happen.

Time for a trivia contest to pass the time:
Today’s question is via the SF giants Jumbotron

Series 3: SOX vs LOS ANGELES

A 5 and 2 start out on the West Coast.
We swept the A’s! (That’s not much of a boast.)
Still, these are games that we can’t go botching.
They count even though no one’s there watching.

Houck pitched game 1. The Red Sox’s 5th great start.
Casas, Duran, and Story played their part.
9 hits! 9 to nothing! Sox won with ease.
Looked like the whole series might be a breeze.

Game 2 was tighter. A back and forth war.
It took 11 to win 5 to 4.
Can’t say we won in an exciting way.
Our ghost runner scored on a double play.

Game 3 brought a common feat in this sport:
Pivetta pitching with no run support.
We won one to nil. We near shit a brick.
T’would be a thrill if this team hit for Nick.

After a day off, we face Anaheim,
still staying up playing past our bedtime.
As long as we’re winning, we don’t need sleep.
Ohtani’s gone, but I bet we can sweep.

Not sure how much traction it got but there was a twitter thing encouraging angels fans to give Rendon an ovation to “show their support” and I can’t think of anything more pathetic. These people complain about visiting fans taking over their park and then do crap like that.

Not here
Pete Abe looks a lot less like someone who would gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today now that he's gone gray.

NESN using RBI to compare Devers and Trout is some Joe Morgan level analysis
