Can great pitching be contagious? Probably not, but I would absolutely love for Rodon to pick up where Nestor left off and keep the pressure on Miami. TIA Carlos.

Second straight lefty vs lefty matchup, you don’t see that too often.

Last time it was consecutive LHP vs. LHP matchups was pretty recent for the Yankees, May 19/21 of 2022, although against different teams (@BAL, vs. CHW, respectively). Same team, for Yankees specifically? August 5 and 6 of 2021 against the Mariners.

Including this series, Cortes has been a starter in all three instances. That's not too surprising but a little fascinating.

Feels like the babip thing has not been on their side tonight. Especially with runners on (Stanton hitting that deep lineout with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 6th comes to mind). Only 2 strikeouts, and generally solid contact.

5-0 in one run games now, they hit a lot of rockets right at people tonight as ja said but still escaped with the win.

Baton passed to Stroman! Off day Thursday so he has a lot of bullpen available if needed, keep it rolling.

Since the two losses were shutouts, NY is still undefeated when they score at all this season. That seems good.
