Water. Lou Merloni is the right guy to be in this booth for the rest of my life or so.

TC: this Yankees team is one of the most disappointing teams in history... What a beautiful sentence to hear!

2 behind Toronto and 2.5 behind Seattle. Tough hill to climb but they aren’t out of it at all. Need a sweep tomorrow to make up for the Nats series.

Having a Worcester game on at 4 after a 1pm Sox game on a Saturday that I have nothing to do but watch baseball is a great thing.

Schreiber is pretty good, as a general rule.
Yes, but I think what he meant was that we try to finish off games like this with scrubs in the 8th and 9th and most of the time it turns into a save sitiuation in the blink of an eye. Not a problem today. That's how bad NY has been.

I don’t care what the records are, beating these assholes under any circumstances is pure sex. It’s just so goddamn satisfying. Fuck em.

Maybe the lowest stress game I’ve been to at the Toilet. Once Urias went deep everyone knew it was over. Or I guess it was really the amazing bunt DP soon after.

Reyes is really smacking the ball, and had one of a few key early at bats that signaled the bats were locked in and that Cole didn’t have his put-away stuff. Drawing that walk put the pressure on and definitely had Cole a bit frustrated.

Devers looked pretty locked in too. I told my wife to pay attention to Devers’ at bat because he was going to hit a home run, unfortunately I was one AB early on that call.

Or how good the Sox have been!

Cole sounds like he’s going through an existential crisis.

"I'm confused at why their execution was so high"

Yeah. Sound like he didn't think Urias had a chance at that slider.

He can't be inferring they knew what was coming. Can he?

You overlooked our 8 and 9 hitters. Should have realized we use like eleventy billion lineups.

I watched that, and I don't see him implying the Sox were stealing signs so much as he is befuddled when he "executes pitches" and they still get hit. He is sad, that's for sure.

A guy who is having a poor year at the plate hit a really good pitch righty righty against a real good pitcher. Not a thing that happens too often. But shit happens over 162 games, and for a team that is really scuffling it is bad timing.

Urias said after the game he had never had a granny, even in little league. He has actually tagged a higher number of HRs in the last couple of years than I would have guessed, but I guess never with bases loaded. He actually has about as many HRs in the last couple of years as doubles, near 50 of each. So I guess he has some power deep.

Did they ever say if anyone has ever had grand slams on back to back pitches?

Back to back pitch grand slams is being discussed over on Red Sox Forum, Luis Urias to Red Sox.
