Murphy is good. Got Maldonado sitting back after the violation and threw a perfect pitch. Damn that was nice.
This is one of those teams I just hate every player instinctively and can't really explain it in every case. There is a very Miami Heat energy to this team imo.
Ha. I think a lot of it has to do with me taking him in like the 4th round of the RealFantasy draft here in like 2013 or something, and everyone made fun of me for it. There's a little gloating there.
Of course, I took Jason Heyward with my first round pick, so that more than made up for it.
When Duvall saved them from a squander in the 1st with that absolute rocket I really thought this was going to be different from the other recent "oh we are not a serious team, actually" responses to a successful run of games. Alas.

Verlander is so going to cruise tomorrow while Houck pitches like 4 spotless innings then gets yanked at 60 pitches before someone else blows it.
edit: I have been mostly positive about this team I don't know why this one game has me tilting so badly. I really fucking hate the Astros it is the Miami Heat energy.

There is no such thing as the Red Sox sweeping the Yankees and it being "nothing." It is glorious in seasons when they win 65 games, or 87 games or 100+ games.
Those two runs. Cora just punted. Stealing innings. On the other hand, he probably figures they will never score 3 in the ninth.
Defensive miscues, squandered scoring opportunities, an ineffective pitcher kept in too long, all resulting in dropping an otherwise winnable game when every single game coutns. . .it's like the 2023 greatest hits team.
Throw in the Cora "we're better than this" press conference as a cherry on top.
Bunch of fucking cheaters who were good enough not to cheat, who then proceeded to get even better than they were when they cheated, but now with a misplaced chip on their shoulder because being called “cheaters” hurt their fee-fees.
