A 2-0 middle middle fastball right down broadway at like 94 MPH against a mediocre righty and Rafi's got nothing.

I went over to bref to see how bad Urquidy is against lefties in order to pile on to Devers. It actually turns out that Urquidy has a very pronounced reverse platoon split -- Righties are OPSing 173 points higher against him than lefties. Who knew?

So, back in the game. Now we just need to stop the Astors from continuing their pace to 36 runs here, and we can take the lead next half-inning

I'd add the 2-2 count (Bregman) cubically transformed by Blue to 4-0, as well.
Fallacy of the Predetermined Outcome. Had the count been 2-1 on Bregman, he might not have taken the fourth pitch, resulting in something that happened only in the dimension in which @DeJesus Built My Hotrod lives.

Plus, it was a five-pitch walk, not four.

There is still the matter of two strikes (according to Gameday) called balls. It's a real good way to rattle a pitcher, intentionally or no. Umps are bailing on low strikes this year more than any in recent memory. Junior Valentine couldn't be bothered to stay with these offerings either.

Edit; Ball 1 to Maldonado? Jesu Christo.

It took me 6 years to realize that Devers throws right handed. Crazy. I should pay more attention.
