Its the damn Yankees, the least they could do is split the series with them now.

At this time of the year everybody's dinged up. Oh, that's football, but I wouldn't entertain any excuses for our boys.Am I the only one who thinks that except for the youngsters, the Sox look tired? Or am I just projecting?
This team and last year's squad went through prolonged slumps. Sure, at this point of the year you could say tired, but I think it runs deeper than that. Lack luster, uninspired, at times unaware...Depending on the makeup of the team, losing can certainly contribute to those attributes, but I'm suspecting that it's the opposite.I have been grateful all summer for the wonderful rain, thinking it so much better than those parts of the world frying in drought. But now enough is too much.
I am much more concerned about my winter squash crop than the fate of the Sox at this point, but I do think both are at risk of being waterlogged.
There may be openings between the storms enough for play tonight, but I am not counting on it. Another double header on Thursday seems more likely.
I wonder how much the double header affected Cora's decisions last night. Like not wanting to pinch-hit for the tired Wong b/c of having to bring in the tired McG to play the rest of the game after he'd played 9 innings earlier? Etc.
Am I the only one who thinks that except for the youngsters, the Sox look tired? Or am I just projecting?
Easier to tune out.Playing out the schedule that has no meaningful importance is never fun.
That is GRIM.For the doubleheader: 0 for 19 with RISP, 20 runners left on base. 10 strikeouts in 19 AB with runners in scoring position.
3 runs scored. 2 RBI in 18 innings, both on solo HRs.
The pitching finally improves and holds NY to 7 total runs in 2 games, but they lose both due to horrendous offense.
Thanks for showing up, bats. Good job, good effort.
They need someone else to bring the mystiqueI hope his aura is contagious.

"So it looks like the red/pink combo is a good aura for a utility player. In the next installment, we’ll look into pitchers and other positions."
I'd have to say Turner."So it looks like the red/pink combo is a good aura for a utility player. In the next installment, we’ll look into pitchers and other positions."
Anyone else fitting that mold on this years revolving roster? Maybe Justin Turner?
BTW, miss the great writing you did on the sosh dot com.
Spelled Buchholz right too."So it looks like the red/pink combo is a good aura for a utility player. In the next installment, we’ll look into pitchers and other positions."

Imma miss these. If he had been a member here and lived long enough, I think that Bart Giamatti would have included missing the game poems in his "anxieties" about the end of the year.Game 146
Two losses in one day moved us to the cellar.
We’re buried so deep, we’d appeal to Ross Gellar.
We’re approaching at-bats like we’re Helen Keller,
flailing and failing like we’re facing Bob Feller,
It’s like joining the Bee, when you’re a bad speller
or trying to fly with a wobbly propeller.
I could start chants or scream, but I’m not a yeller.
We’re in need of some magic! Call Penn and Teller.
After today, there will be only one dweller.
If it’s them and not us, that sure would be stellar.
I want “water” to wash my withered umbreller.
Totally disagree. The off-season is long and I miss baseball all winter. For me, any day the Sox play baseball is better than any day that they don’t. Other than Thanksgiving. I really like Thanksgiving.Playing out the schedule that has no meaningful importance is never fun.
Just depends on how one defines meaningful importance.Playing out the schedule that has no meaningful importance is never fun.
Spectacular! Might be one of the best! Just love these!!!!Game 146

Tarp is on the field. No start time has been announced. What’s the story (small s) with the tarp?
Hey, I agree with every word of your post. How often does that happen?Totally disagree. The off-season is long and I miss baseball all winter. For me, any day the Sox play baseball is better than any day that they don’t. Other than Thanksgiving. I really like Thanksgiving.

This. Did your family have to give away one fraternal twin? Possible it was me.Totally disagree. The off-season is long and I miss baseball all winter. For me, any day the Sox play baseball is better than any day that they don’t. Other than Thanksgiving. I really like Thanksgiving.
