Someone explain to me why Cora just burned Abreu there? Couldn't he have easily sent Refsnyder into the field when Verdugo got hurt?
I assume he went like for like with a lefty batter replacing a lefty batter, perhaps not expecting Cox to stay in the game. Once Wong got a lead off double, and Cox still in, he must have decided the run was big enough with only a 3-run lead that he wanted to platoon.

Looked like ball four on a pitch clock violation but they let it go and Rafi gets the rbi.

Hey man, I am the only one amongst us is in these threads allowed to constantly complain, win or lose.

I'm sure Cora's just seeing what he has.
Except for the fact that Cora did not do anything wrong in deciding to pinch hit Refsnyder.

Oh, I agree it was the right move. It's just amusing he blew Abreu earlier in the game, when he could have hit for Refsnyder against the righty.

I don't think the Abreu/Refsnyder thing is consequential in a game when you're up like this. It's one of those no-harm, no foul things.

This is your choice. In my 140 years on this board, you may be the biggest whiner. We should call you a wahmbulance. Its all tears and you always know better. Do you even enjoy sports or it is just the bitching that does it for you?

I'm not sure why you're trying to make this about me, instead of anything in particular I said.

Which is kind of amusingly ironic, since I've gotten no end of grief for refusing to join the Woe-is-Mookie brigade, and trying to focus on the positives of the team we actually have during the off-season. Called the thread police and all that jazz.

But let's get to it. It's not that I'm negative.

It's my holding Cora accountable that winds you up.

Why?

I don't care whom you think is accountable to you. We had an exchange and you got snarky. I asked to discontinue and you made another comment. Nobody reading this thread wants to see any of this. Stand down and do you. I will do me and we move on - ok?

He only started the 6th. Sale pitched 5 complete innings.
Right, which is why my question had to do with the time Cora came out, apparently to remove Sale in the FIFTH, but Sale seemed to talk him out of it.
If Sale had not been successful in prevailing and Llovera were the one to relieve him at that time, it might have been nasty.

Cora came out to tell Sale he had one more batter. If he was thinking it would get Sale to air it out and get out of the inning, it worked. He threw his two hardest fastballs all game right afterwards.
