There are two things I've determined about the 2023 Red Sox team: 1. They won't give up, and 2. They're very stupid. Are they stupid enough to not realize they're supposed to "give up" by now and keep fighting to the bitter end. Most teams, I'd say they'd realize the situation they're in by this point. Love your original post. The precondition for any against-all-odds comeback is belief, even if it isn't rational. The thing is, as long as the team still has life in terms of the math, they have to keep trying. You just never know and only quitters are assured of one outcome.
