what if sox win and yanks are eliminated? Still 1:00 start? no 7:00 game at all?...you would think some game would be bumped to prime rime..no?
edit..yanks play tomorrow at 7:30, so they can't wait until after that game to change the start time of the Sox game...but maybe the Cubs?

how can they change the sox game start time at 10:30 the night before ? Is there precedent for this?
This happens every year in the playoffs. When one series ends before the other, it often results in time changes designed to get what could be the only game of the day in prime time.

I wish they picked a time and stuck with it. I can't fit a game in my schedule if I don't know when it is until 10:30pm the night before (unless it is on the weekend).
I always prefer day games because I am coming from CT.

looking at the weather, higher % of rain as the day goes on tomorrow. MLB would be foolish to move the game from 1 to 7. My guess is if the yanks lose, the Cub's game would get the 7 start.

I'm confused. Directv still shows the game at 2:30 and the forecast shows the rain having stopped by then. Why would they change the time if the forecast holds?

Bought tix for home game 2(tomorrow)as soon as they went on sale...pretty crappy seats. I feel like a sucker as I just checked sox site and there are great seats everywhere.
Pretty sleazy of the sox selling their worst seats first. This is not a ticket dump as I've been checking every day and good seats have been available fora while now and more added every day.
Sox playoff tix used to be hard to get, can't believe the lack of interest. Well below face on Stubhub.

edit-Green monster seats even available in all sections

Pretty sure this is commonplace everywhere. Every sport, every team, every concert.

yes, I'm just saying that selling the bad seats first isn't new.

I guess if they knew it would be tough to sell them all, that is the smart way to do it. You would think for a play-off game that wouldn't be the case. Times have changed.

Demand was so high in the past that there would never be tickets available this late. They were sold out within hours. Total lack of interest.
This is shocking to me. People are so spoiled by the Henry era success that a playoff game may have empty seats. We've become the Maddox, Glavine, Smoltz Braves, except with 3 times more titles.

God I hope we're not that bad. Do you think we've become complacent or do we just have to be the best team every year. WS champs or nothing? I hope we have not become a cross between Yankee fans and Braves fans. At least Yankee fans seem into it all the time. Our fans have become too quiet at games. The Braves won the div. title every year between 1991 and 2005, the lone exception being the 94 strike year. (Mook just made a great catch). They were not appreciated as they should have been by their fans or the media. I just hope we have not become them. The other thing is bad moves and injuries aren't the reason we probably lose this series. The Stros and Indians are just better bottom line. Let's accept that and hopefully improve in the off season and Price and Porcello come back to form.

What else bothered me was I was at a Patriots bar in Philly(Yes there is one) for opening night against the Chiefs. I was speaking to Pats fans from Mass. and I had my Sox hat on and I started talking Red Sox with him and he and his friends said to me that "Oh we're sick of the Red Sox" Hughh???? Sick of what success?? Not that it's everyone but it did worry me. Have the Pats become number one?

The good news is that we'd be able to skip a Porcello start and go back to Sale/Pomeranz and a kickass bullpen.
The bad news it that Houston goes back to Verlander/Keuchel.

Frankly I'd rather take my chances on a slugfest tomorrow.

Maybe a couple of mid-game rain delays would help Porcello with tired-arm downward action on that sinker.

Rainout so ideal tomorrow if it would let price be ready for multiple innings in a possible game five. Basically can have the shortest of hooks, throw everyone, and have Sale/Price (and in a perfect world kimbrel) ready for all the game 5 innings

Why would it matter for Price's readiness? Game 5 is Wednesday regardless of when Game 4 is.

I would hope for no rainout as it brings back their top 2 on full rest. We have a better shot at beating them in a bullpen game then Sale v Verlander in Game 5 on full rest, IMO.

He went longer yesterday than any of the starters so far.
So clearly, he's now conditioned to throw a full start's worth of pitches on Wednesday, two days after that lengthy relief outing.

Let's not confuse quick hook in a poor outing with an inability to throw 100 pitches if needed. I'd rather have Sale or Pomeranz start Wednesday capable of going 100+ pitches if they're throwing well than start Price and need to pull him after 50-60 pitches even if he's throwing a perfect game.
