I'm not sure I understand the running through 2nd one—presumably players are typically only running through 2nd on a force when the defender has already touched 2b for the out anyway. Am I missing something?

My 1st thought was that if the defender drops the ball & they do that, they're out anyway.

Ah, OK, I think that is where my confusion lays because I thought it had already become mandatory for the runner to get down/out of the way of an impending throw from 2b.

Not sure if it's the same game you are thinking, but pretty sure they did it against the Sox. Slow roller to Reyes at second, I believe.

3. Although less flashy, Braden Nett (RHP/Cleveland) and Zach
Penrod (LHP/Glendale) each tossed four innings and did not
allow a run on Opening Day.

This would be nice, but is technically untrue. I even double-checked & made sure they hadn't changed Penrod's run to an unearned run or something.

Nett did in fact pitch 4 scoreless (for Peoria, not Cleveland), & it was only after he left that they allowed an 8-run 7th as part of a 10-10 10 inning tie.
