Shades of Josh BeckettScherzer hits his first major league homer, a no doubter in Miami. Then leaves with an apparent neck injury the next inning. Could have strained it while high fiving in the dugout.
Not quite. Per MLB.com:Colon pitched a 106-pitch CG tonight in a 8-4 win against Texas. oldest player to pitch a CG since Ryan in '92.
3 out of last 5 blown for him. Poor Toronto.Sounds like osunas afternoon in Houston.
That was great. I liked that 5 runs scoring on 2 pitches is an all time record.8th inning, Nats down 4-3, runner first with one out. 1-2 count on Ryan Zimmerman
Literally three pitches later, it's 8-4 Nats.
Pitch 1: Double
Intentional walk (no pitches)
Pitch 2: HBP
Pitch 3: Grand slam
If the season ended today, the Dodgers would have the fourth-best winning percentage of the past century, just behind the 1954 Indians (111-43), the 2001 Mariners (116-46), and the 1927 Yankees (110-44)It's also the best 50 game record any team has had at any point of the season since 1906, pretty crazy.
Only one of those three won the World Series, worth noting. If the season ended today, the Dodgers would have the fourth-best winning percentage of the past century, just behind the 1954 Indians (111-43), the 2001 Mariners (116-46), and the 1927 Yankees (110-44)

Which also conveniently eliminates the 1906 Cubs (116-36 .763) and 1909 Pirates (110-42 .724) in modern baseball history (since 1901 when the AL was founded). Pirates did win the WS, Cubs lost to their crosstown rivals.Only one of those three won the World Series, worth noting.
Was at this game last night sitting just past 3B. When the Braves took the field I saw him go down and assumed he was just laughing at himself for tripping over the baseline. Then when he grabbed at his leg I pointed it out to the guys I was with and none of us could believe it. Looked like a nothing injury that they are now calling a bone bruise and out for a DL stint. An injury that would make the late Chris Borwn jealous
ATLANTA -- Rookie shortstop Johan Camargo suffered a hyperextended right knee while jogging onto the field before Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Camargo was taking the field when his right knee appeared to lock as he reached down to grab a handful of dirt or touch the chalk on the first-base line. He fell to the ground on the infield grass.

20 HR in his last 32 as well.Giancarlo Stanton is now running away with the MLB home run race, 8 HRs in his last 9 games, and up to 41 for the season (remarkably the first time he has ever hit 40).
Astros/Sox close out the season with 4 games at Fenway, too.I'm starting to think Houston can be caught by Boston. Man have the wheels gotten loose for them.
This was painful to watch. Really hope he is ok.Bryce Harper's leg went out from under him as he hit the bag at first trying to beat out a hard grounder to the first baseman. He had to be helped off the field after being on the ground in obvious pain.
If only he'd been dogging it.
Haven't seen it. Marty Barrett bad?Man, that looked bad
