What's the Denver fan base like?  Do they still sell out home games for an 8-8 team?

It is always smart to have an used up QB come back and block a potential starter from getting a look in his walk year.

Denver is a Bronco city. They always sell out regardless of record.
The last time they didn't sell out a home game was 1969, apparently- the longest streak in the NFL.
edit: sorry- looks like Pittsburgh, Green Bay, and DC have longer streaks; Denver is the only team to have sold out all of their NFL games.

Manning Broncos playoff winning %: .400

Tebow Broncos playoff winning %: .500

The choice is simple, Elway.

Or just have both of them and add up their playoff percentages to 90%. Victory basically assured!

This is true, but only technically so.  Much of the Denver crowd at games comes from corporate seats, kind of like the 49ers wine and cheese crowd.  The crowd has transformed a lot from the old mile high days, to the point where the altitude is the biggest home field advantage for the Broncos instead of crowd noise.

There are some diehards, too, obviously, but honestly most of these diehards aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.  In other words, there is no somewhat cohesive, intelligent thought process that occurs among Bronco fans.

Well played but I'm good with those guys getting super emotional over their win. They played in a tough game and needed to vent after the fact since reporters were all wanting to talk to Butler and Brady.

The problem the Broncos have is they have to let Manning know that if things go south, they have to start Brock O. And they are going to have to tell him that in the process of asking manning to restructure his deal. It could be touchy.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about that too much. Like having too many starters or outfielders, injuries will adjust the balance

What is the word on Osweiler? Late 2nd round pick, has been in the league for 3 seasons. Is he any good?

If Peyton still wants to play, but not on a restructured deal with Denver, I wonder where he goes. Imagine the Manning brothers playing for the Giants and Jets, ROFL. Actually I could see him going to Buffalo or Houston, both teams near the playoff cusp and needing quarterbacks.

Isn't that like saying Brady would go home to play for the Lions?
If Giselle was from Michigan, was part owner of the Pistons, and they vacationed there it would be just like it. Peyton is from New Orleans but has family and spends time in Tennessee.

Well, it's been reported he wanted to go to Houston but was a bad fit with Kubiak so they weren't interested. I'd have to think they are the leaders in the clubhouse as they'd be his best chance to win in his last season or two.

What was the deal with him and Kubiak in the past? Control issues over offensive play calling?

Buffalo might be interesting as he'd pretty much get to be his own offensive coordinator out there, plus their good defense. It would add additional drama to Rex's 4 Super Bowls each regular season. But yeah, i imagine Peyton would favor a warmer weather stadium that is also closer to home, all else equal.

Where it rains. No, seriously.

I wouldn't oversell an investment of three game checks in the Grizzlies. If you asked Peyton what was "home" I think Nashville wouldn't be at the top of the list.

If he goes to Houston, they are immediately a top 3 team in the AFC.

Imagine if the Patriots beat them in the playoffs?   Peyton fans (Indy by way of Denver by way of Houston) would commit seppuku.

Part of me wants to see that move just to give the Colts some divisional competition.  Talk about 6 games against tomato cans...

Houston is tight against the cap, and would probably have to cut Andre Johnson or Jonathan Joseph to get Manning in there. Maybe both, depending on how many other areas they need to address. They may rather go with a young arm like Mallett, especially given that there's still a chance Manning is cooked. If Denver is letting him move on, that would have to be an even bigger red flag.

Andre Johnson is a likely cap casualty. He'll be 34, will have a $16.1 million cap hit next year, and has been declining in production over the last three years. 2nd year player DeAndre Hopkins eclipsed him in yards this year. Maybe Johnson would take a major restructure for one final go at a Super Bowl with Manning at the helm.

Even a cooked Manning is a far better option than Mallett, Fitzpatrick, or whoever else Houston would have at QB. If you add Manning to that team and Clowney actually becomes something, that would be a pretty dangerous squad.
I guess it depends on whether it's the well-done extra crispy Manning that couldn't get the ball 15 yards down the field against Indy without it being a wounded duck, or something more like medium rare.  Fitzpatrick can throw it 15 yards.

Not only that, but it's not just Manning vs. Mallett, it's Manning vs. Mallett + 15 million in cap space. Something like that. I think it's also fair to assume that this season is likely it for Manning as well, so if you don't win it all that's taking away a year a young player could learn and develop with game experience. As I mentioned before, it's also only ever coming to fruition if another team that could be contending jettisoned Manning, which should raise big red flags.
