Yup, I'm wondering if Seattle would go after him.To get hired in Seattle?

At least it’s not landlocked like Atl so VIII rings can still sail! Now Belichick can take over as HC from Pete again.
Some rumors he might retire yeah, but not real strong onesWere there rumors about this? I hadn’t heard that his job was in danger at all
Quinn makes the most sense, unless there's a guy internally. Old friend Larry Izzo is the ST coach, which I did not realize.Dan Quinn would seem a logical candidate given his roots there and prior head coaching experience, especially if they don’t want to bring in a guy like Vrabel that’s clearly more of a bull in a china shop and may not be a fit with Schneider.
Did he live in Cambridge while coaching the NEP?I remember meeting Pete on MIT campus while watching my high school girlfriend compete in a lacrosse tournament. Pete was walking his dog and let me pet his dog and hung out with me watching lacrosse for probably 30 minutes. He's a very sweet guy and I've always liked him.
Snow Hill Lane in Medfield is where he livedDid he live in Cambridge while coaching the NEP?
Is this wishcasting or is there a connection? I can’t see how this is a better job than a high draft pick team or Herbert. Seattle does have a good roster but not a top qb.Pete out is clearing the path for Harbaugh.
Rah-Rah on steroids!Pete out is clearing the path for Harbaugh.
Part wishcasting, but it makes some logical sense. Pete became available when the heat started at USC and ended up in Seattle. I could see a similar path for Harbaugh, given the heat is coming on at Michigan and it's a golden opportunity for Seattle to repeat history by having Pete take a front office job and clearing the deck.Is this wishcasting or is there a connection? Mina Kimes has been asserting lately that the Seahawks have solid overall talent, and that Geno Smith is actually a good QB. I don’t recall her saying so explicitly, but it’s clear she doesn’t think the Hawks have been well-coached the past two years. I don’t recall hearing any rumors, but I can’t say I’m shocked that ownership apparently agreed with her assessment. Were there rumors about this? I hadn’t heard that his job was in danger at all
It would also allow Harbaugh to go in the other conference as his brother ala Peyton/Eli.Part wishcasting, but it makes some logical sense. Seattle is going to be picking in the area JJ McCarthy is expected to go in the draft, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's a potential plan at QB.
Edit: Am I excited about all of this? I wasn't happy originally when Pete was hired, and I think Harbaugh is a better coach, so I will be cautiously optimistic.
Mina is a Seattle fan. It is like me talking about the Jets. I think they play pretty good for having Geno Smith at QB.Mina Kimes has been asserting lately that the Seahawks have solid overall talent, and that Geno Smith is actually a good QB. They haven't been coached well the past few years. Fundamentals have fallen way off, they were one of the worst tackling teams in the league this year.Mina Kimes has been asserting lately that the Seahawks have solid overall talent, and that Geno Smith is actually a good QB. I've posted this before, but here's a good Pete story.I remember meeting Pete on MIT campus while watching my high school girlfriend compete in a lacrosse tournament. Pete was walking his dog and let me pet his dog and hung out with me watching lacrosse for probably 30 minutes. He's a very sweet guy and I've always liked him.
This would be a heel move for Harbs in SF. He's still beloved by niners fans, they were all rooting for Michigan and happy for the guy.Part wishcasting, but it makes some logical sense. Seahawks offense was better last year than this year and he got zero interviews, and zero mentions in the press then. He does some innovative things with TEs, but otherwise he hasn't really impressed me. Offense took a step back this year and that's with a rookie WR3 developing and a rookie RB2 who had a decent season, on top of the existing talent (they lost almost no one in the offseason) and not an overwhelming number of injuries.Would Shane Waldron be a dark horse Pats HC candidate if Bill leaves? ~6 years with Belichick/Weiss/McDaniels in New England/Notre Dame stints. Then 5 years working with McVay in Washington and LA.
Here comes the tampering case, and the loss of the No. 3 pickWell now...
The only coach I would keep is Larry Izzo. He is one of the best ST coaches out there.
$100 million over 5 years would change some attitudes I'm sure. And I don't think Pete stays around long. He's not a front office/advisor type.Harbaugh is not going to any organization where Carroll is still involved in any capacity. They pretty famously can't stand each other.
Even weirder that he referred to the Patriots as “we” or “us”.I know it was for the HoF ceremony but I did find it weird or odd that the head coach of another team spent his bye week with the Kraft's. I get they do half time ceremonies for the inductees but feels like they could've done something offseason for a guy coaching another NFL team.
I know a team that could really use a great special teams coach. Make it happen...Bill?The only coach I would keep is Larry Izzo. He is one of the best ST coaches out there.
Yes please. Fire Judge and Achord into the Atlantic.Vrabel and Izzo played together here for EIGHT seasons
Bring the gang together!

Which city - Seattle or Boston?Pete wrapping up his press conference opening statement by saying, "I'm still jacked and fired up."
Perfect. Such a unique human and coach, who fit this city so well.
Why the hell would I be talking about Boston?Which city - Seattle or Boston?
Because he wasn't a match here - at that point in time anyway.
to be honest you the phrase'"winningest coach in seattle history" isnt really that high of a barSeahawks statement (copied from X):
After thoughtful meetings and careful consideration for the best interest of the franchise, we have amicably agreed with Pete Carroll that his role will evolve from Head Coach to remain with the organizationas an advisor.
Pete is the winningest coach in Seahawks history, brought the city its first Super Bowl title, and created a tremendous impact over the past 14 years on the field and in the community.
His expertise in leadership and building a championship culture will continue as an integral part of our organization moving forward.
