I think major disappointment is strong, but I wouldn't qualify this season as a success for him. I've viewed it as a step back from last year (so far)which is disappointing. I'm not sure he's been better than Chara, and he's definitely not playing like a #1 in my opinion.

Carlo is the one who has taken the big step forward this year.
I agree with everything said here by TFP. Carlo is the one who has been really good since deep in the playoffs last year and he has continued to take another big step forward this year, he's been terrific.

I think his overall game is up from last year and I think he's been asked to take on a slightly different role. I also think he started pretty rough (short offseason seemed to wear on him) but over the last 6 weeks has been outstanding. So perhaps there's some recency bias on my part, but I think he's been a stud and I'm pretty sure the Bs feel the same way too.

But yes, we need to see some more points if he's to be a legit #1, even if the rest of his game is thereabouts.

And that's why the B's haven't retaliated. You simply can't count on these refs to not fuck that up as well.

And yeah, biggest issue I’ve seen with McAvoy is he can’t seem to find the net or get even particularly close to it.

The complete lack of a response on Bemstrom is pathetic. Looking squarely at Brett Ritchie as the eminently dispensable skater out there tonight. Say what you will about Backes (lord knows I have) but if he's dressed tonight, he's giving it to Bemstrom at some point

Agreed. I'm getting more annoyed about it by the minute.

I am getting discouraged by the low pulse on this team. Where is the veteran leadership? If we don't win this period how much longer management wait to cut the deadwood?

John Moore of all people stepped up for a hit on Pastrnak earlier in the season. If Ritchie's playing, what is his purpose if he can't step up here?

Chara I'm willing to give a pass given he reinjured his jaw in the fight against Trenin recently.

I even said something nice about Ritchie last game but it’s s pretty indefensible that he hasn’t at least skated past and glared at Bemstrom

A 2 goal lead seems like a mountain to climb here with Ken Dryden in the net for Columbus.

Ugh. Bruins seemed close to converting on their power play. Tough to see them give up a PP goal right after that. And now another PP opportunity for Boston. A goal please.

The d-zone exits are so god damn bad right now. No hard stops on breakouts, tons of no-look passes, I get it's a back to back with travel but the lack of attention to detail is alarming.

It is like game #200 in the last 480 days including summer, but still

Dagger. Very frustrating back to back for different reasons. Tort's teams are very good playing with a lead. Hopefully Sweeney takes some type of action soon. Bemstrom getting a free pass all game is pathetic.

I think it's time for Sweeney to address it with a roster change.
Absolutely. They have a bunch of soft bottoms six forwards. You can’t tell me they couldn’t get more out of guys like Blidh, Frederic, and Studnicka then they’re getting out of stuffs like Richie. Donnie needs to do something for accountability.
