Greg Campbell got a minute more even strength TOI than Krejci, two and a half more than Lucic and about seven fucking hours more than Pastrnak and Spooner.

This is fucking disgusting and this alone should cost Claude his job.

Also it was very disheartening to see them come out and have that kind of performance in just a massive game for them.

I'm as big a Claude supporter as you'll find and there is absolutely zero explanation for that TOI split. None. It's fucking shameful and terrifying at the same time.

Add in breaking up the one line that has single-handedly kept them in the playoff hunt (Spoons/Pasta/Lucic) for half a game, and then waving the white flag when its too little too late, and changing the lines back. Just has the "throwing shit (Campbell) at the wall to see if it sticks" method of planning, doesnt inspire confidence in the method.

And this is why the "Screw last nights results" argument sucks. I want playoff hockey. I don't care how they get it but I want it.

Yeah, I am as well and it's completely indefensible. If they miss the playoffs, he will lose his job because when he needed the most out of his team, he relied on the worst player on his roster to produce. His loyalty to him will likely be his downfall. It's a shame, really, he's a good coach. Just a really really stupid thing to do, both with juggling the lines after winning five straight, and playing Campbell at all, let alone as your #4 forward.

Between here and everywhere.
As much as Claude is to blame for the lines - the team is to blame for not over coming.

3 games the season against Holtby - ZERO FUCKING GOALS.

That's completely unacceptable.

It was surreal, like he was trolling us and/or coaching to ensure his termination.

Agreed. Moved the "fire Clode" needle a bit for me. Down 2-0 before the first TV timeout, you need to take risks and play the guys who are supposed to score.

There's no excuse for the TOI, or even having Campbell in the lineup, as far as I'm concerned. But this is stupid, even by your standards.

If Claude were fired every time you posted that he should be fired for something alone, he'd be Billy Martin, dipped in napalm, and set alight.

touché. But to be fair, I don't actually think I have been that bad with the "fire Claude" movement. There have been people far worse I think. I actually said the bigger problem has been Chiarelli. Recently though Claude is really pissing me off.

The line juggling last night on it's own isn't a fire-able offense but it certainly pushes me in that direction.  It shows a pretty clear lack of understanding by Clode.  More importantly is this team's inability to show a little guts.  Sure, the players own that, but its on the coach if they come out unprepared.  I'm struggling to be rational at this point but it would take a miracle finish to this season for me to be ok with him coming back.  Enough is enough.

I'm fine with Claude coming back. History has shown that he's an excellent defensive coach, his teams in recent years have been in the top half of the league in Goals For more often than not, and he's made do with a positively patchwork blue line this season.

The indefensibility of continuing to play Campbell against everyone's better judgment does not fall squarely on Julien. As Claude points out in the media pretty regularly, Campbell is his best LH faceoff guy.

I'm a broken record going on about this, but it was and is down to Chiarelli to take playing Campbell out of Claude's hands. I've pointed out the Moen/Bourque situation in Montreal I feel like a half dozen times, but Bergevin not only managed to make a decision for his subordinate - he got cap relief out of it, with Allen/Gonchar each having a year less on their remaining deals.

Chiarelli could have dealt Campbell and brought up Lindblad if Claude really needed a LH faceoff-winner on his fourth line, but enough was enough 2 months ago. Chiarelli's inaction in ditching Campbell and saving his coach from himself was on display last night.

My Clode hate is well known, so take this with a grain of salt.

If your GM needs to get rid of a crappy player to force the coach to stop playing him, isn't that on the coach?

Conversely, if the GM puts the team in cap hell and can do no better than throwing Bartkowski, Trotman, and McQuaid out there while being only 1 add'l d-man down the depth chart, isn't it understandable that the coach (misguided as he may be) is overly reliant on his more defensive forwards?

Two men down the depth chart, with Miller and Hamilton out. Miller was a big loss. Or do you mean one man in addition to the first man?

Miller was not at all a big loss, please tell me that sentence was sarcastic. He's a 5-6th defenseman at most, and basically makes McQuaid redundant. But he was in no way a "big loss".

"Hey, is this thing on?"

Bruins with great energy in the first 10 minutes, a great PP with good puck movement, but alas no score.
