There are reasonable cases on both sides of whether he should be fired, but it was exceptionally craven and despicable for the Bruins to pull the trigger today. It could have waited 24 hours.Good timing. Throw him under thebusduck boat where no one will notice right away.
Absolutely.Maybe I'm over reacting, but seems very cowardly to do this on the day of the Super Bowl parade.
Agree completely on the bolded. Booo. This sucks and the timing is insulting. Hope they sell and go with a complete rebuild. Everyone on the table for me except Pasta and Bergeron.
What he said.Couldn't be more disappointed and less supportive of the leadership of this organization. The timing of the announcement is a microcosm of all of their leadership style. Absolutely gutless.
That said - I hope the players take a long look in the mirror, especially the leadership group.
Bergeron, Marchand, Pasta, and Carlo are untouchable in my opinion. Tuukka is out of necessity, since they don't have another goalie in the entire system who is even NHL level at this point.Agree completely on the bolded. Booo.
I'd be down for a more moderate reboot, but I'd guess we see if some of the slugs can wake up under a new voice before they start selling pieces off. And Marchand is 100% untouchable too, unless it's a godfather offer. I wouldn't move Rask either.
Agree with the last sentiment, but curious who you mean by the bolded. Not sure what Chara/Bergy could have done differently, and word seems to be that Backes is at least good in the room.Couldn't be more disappointed and less supportive of the leadership of this organization. They can certainly talk about it, but it also gives them a built in excuse when they continue to muddle along or backslide. Just throw another shovel of dirt on him, saying he put them in a position from which they couldn't recover. If they talk about doing this for reasons of short term improvement, they are both wrong and setting themselves up to look like jackasses when they miss the playoffs again.

Like it or not, the Bruins have underperformed and come up small under Chara and Bergeron's leadership the last 3 years. I love them, but a lot of this is on them as leaders. Krejci, Tuukka, Krug, Marchand, and Backes (to a lesser extent) as well. The veterans on this team have failed Claude.Agree with the last sentiment, but curious who you mean by the bolded. I've been trying to kick 46 to the curb for years, so you'll get no complaints from me on that.
And Sinden = Neely. What a headstrong move by this management team.
This has Sinden all over it.
I think the problem is that the two biggest leaders are the quiet, lead by example type. And while you're right that hasn't been working on it's own, I don't think it's fair or reasonable to expect those two men to change their personalities...it would ring hollow regardless.Like it or not, the Bruins have underperformed and come up small under Chara and Bergeron's leadership the last 3 years. This team seems like it misses the likes of Kelly, Thornton, and Boychuk. Not that they specifically should still be on the team, but their leadership void has seemingly never been replaced. Guess that's what happens when you go with youth and inexperience.
I'm pretty disgusted by this. What a chicken shit move.
I'm sure they'll say they want to make the playoffs or some such nonsense, but might as well go full tear down.
