This was the first thing I thought of. Especially Westmoreland and Flores and ESPECIALLY for Flores.Westmoreland
Flores
Rizzo
Lester
Like, being a fan is secondary to people and their lives, but it's crazy how many times we've read the headline "Prospect flies to Boston for non baseball health issue."
Here's hoping it's a false alarm. Would rather Casas be the next Lars Anderson than have a life altering health issue ala Flores or Westmoreland, fandom be damned.
More good news. Speier reporting that he's expected to return to baseball activities as well. So whatever it is, it doesn't appear to be too serious.
Honestly that was the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw it was “personal.” Whatever it is I hope it is not serious. Is it safe to make a joke about it being the clap yet?
Really hope he's ok. I guy that age doesn't need medical BS in his life.
Yes, I was just coming here to say the same thing. Clap used to be a thing before sex got dangerous. Is it safe to make a joke about it being the clap yet?

Were they wearing masks?Yes, I was just coming here to say the same thing. Clap used to be a thing before sex got dangerous.
Maybe but definitely not social distancing. Were they wearing masks?
https://theathletic.com/2431576/2021/03/06/bryan-mata-triston-casas-red-sox/Slugging first baseman Triston Casas, also 21, could be back in action much sooner, but there’s still uncertainty about the non-baseball medical issue that caused the Red Sox to fly Casas to Boston for tests earlier in spring training. Casas has returned to Fort Myers and is going through the intake process to rejoin the team, but his immediate outlook remains unclear. The team has not provided any details about his condition.
“There’s a lot of people that are involved in this situation,” Cora said. “People are feeling better (about his prognosis) the last few days. Hopefully, like I said, if you see him joining the team, that’s a good sign. The fact that he’s here already is a positive step. Hoping he can join us. I think a lot of people are feeling better the last few days.”
2nd opinion in Boston that was different than initial diagnosis but that they still want to "keep an eye on?"This update is positive, but it's not exactly "The team doc gave him a shot a penicillin and he's fine."

I'd guess it was some kind of symptoms that *could* be lots of things, but it turned out not to be not terrible, but still a thing. (Like (making this up), trouble breathing was previously undiagnosed asthma, and not serious heart or lung trouble).2nd opinion in Boston that was different than initial diagnosis but that they still want to "keep an eye on?"
False or not, a positive COVID test isn't going to make them put him on a plane to Boston (or anywhere) for evaluation.False positive on a Covid test?
He's shut down with a small ucl tear.Any word on the Mata situation?
We're never going to find out what the medical issueMuch ado about nothing? Sounds like Casas has been fully cleared. Cora said they're looking to get him into some games soon. Maybe by this weekend/ early next week. I'll take it.

It was always weirdly worded by Cora and the team when discussing it, right? I guess I'm a little surprised that they elaborated to the degree they did without really specifying what the issue was. Like a half measure response. I guess I would have left it as him taking care of a personal issue until the medical situation forced them to say something more definitive. Oh well. I'm just glad he's alright. We're never going to find out what the medical issueiswas, right?
"My career was almost over before it started. The great drip dick of 2021 had me in its hold."When he writes his autobiography after his election to the BBHOF I expect there will be a paragraph about this.
I was thinking he had drunk what he thought was the love potion but it turned out to be poison?"My career was almost over before it started. The great drip dick of 2021 had me in its hold."
Because it's none of our business? We're never going to find out what the medical issueiswas, right?
You mean drips, right?I'm going to leave it open for when info inevitably leaks as to what happened.
I assume it will dribble out over time. You mean drips, right?
