Which is my point - Coan threw for 300+ yards in the first half with no help from his running game, but you can't usually keep that smoke-and-mirrors show going for a full game.
Buffalo, in the NFL, has been doing it all season. A good offense in college could do it. But ND isn't good, this 2nd half performance is horrendous.

You need to have the kind of weapons Bama had last year with Jones, to try and play that way in CFB. Mayer is the only guy on that level. The rest of ND’s receivers are pedestrian. Austin has raw talent, but just never seems to take over a game. I thought it was a big mistake for them not to run any of their RPO stuff with Buckner at all in this game. They were utterly predictable, and easily defended against by mid way through the second quarter today.

Did they change from zone to man to man or vice versa post halftime? Or ran more dime? The passing game came to a halt for ND

That’s a great season for the OK ST program. 12 wins and a Fiesta Bowl win vs a blue blood. And they just barely lost to Baylor for the Big 12 championship.

Yeah it’s a no go for VIPs, so a total pipe dream
I saw a Super Bowl at ASU stadium once. It was so low key that it is hard to believe it is the same event that it has become. Metal benches and I parked on the street 10 minutes from the stadium and it was free.

Wasn’t even all that long ago.

Edir — Also it was a day game.

Yeah it’s a no go for VIPs, so a total pipe dream at this point, especially with that monstrosity in LA that probably has ball massaging seats in the suites.
The Rose Bowl is a museum and is not comfortable at all. Also, it’s tough to get to. SoFi is a palace. It’s got incredible food, great sight lines, and it’s close to LAX. There will never ever be a Super Bowl at the Rose Bowl ever again.

It looks really uncomfortable. Rogah don’t sit on no aluminum bench.
Totally outdated facility when I saw it 30 years ago and it doesn't look that much different from then. The days of the NFL playing in a place like that are long over.

The Rose Bowl is the only sporting venue I’ve been to that’s worse than Gillette to get to.

Also, this game is drunk.
