CC scores at 4:52 of OT and wins it 4-3. Shot by Peter Stoykewych goes in off a defender, and the goal is good following a review.

Tigers-Gophers in the other WCHA semifinal

Kevin Rooney with his first-ever collegiate goal from Chris Rooney, with a little right-to-left move around the goaltender. PC up 1-0.

Brown senior Francis Drolet scored his first goal in since his freshman season to help the effort. 3-0 Brown.

Matt Lorito scores his 2nd of the game to make it 4-0. Lorito has been sensational for Brown this season. He is super calm with the puck when in a position to score.

WIsconsin advances to the WCHA final. As long as there are no upset champions in the other conference tournaments, their spot in the field of 16 appears pretty safe.

Canisius takes a 4-3 lead over the Purple Eagles into the 2nd intermission.

UMass-Lowell starting a power play now with 5:30 left in the first.

EDIT - And an interference penalty on Scott Wilson puts them back at even strength, 4 on 4 with 1:17 left on Chris Rooney's penalty.

According to the TV announcers, Quinnipiac's Russell Goodman cross checked Brown's Garnet Hathaway in the back way away from the play. They called it a "cheap shot." It was too far away from the puck and thus the camera to actually pick it up during the live action, so all they showed was Hathaway on the ice after the hit and going down the tunnel. No penalty was called on the play. I hope they have another angle of that for the intermission.

River Hawks back on the power play. Harvey for interference at 18:21 of the 1st.

EDIT - Christian Folin dinged the right post for Lowell, but no dice. Still 1-0 PC at the first break.

I think there's one camera shooting this game.  Wouldn't count on any extra replays.

They had a couple angles on Hathaway's goal, so there's definitely more than one camera in the house.

I wouldn't put it at pretty safe. At the moment, even disregarding the likelihood now that Niagara will lose and create another AHA autobid team sneaking in, if Wisconsin loses in the final, they're looking at these PWR odds according to Jim Dahl going into today. Looking like 56% if no one sneaks in as an autobid. Still looking like they'll need to win tomorrow at this snapshot in time:

#14   2.0%
#15   12.7%
#16   41.6%
#17   28.7%
#18   10.7%
#19   4.2%
#20   0.1%

Brown is my dark horse in the ECAC tournament. In pre-season polls they were projected to finish last but managed an impressive 7 seed and first round home ice. Anthony Borelli earned his 3rd shutout of the year for Brown tonight. His .946 SV% is 2nd in the country and his 1.68 GAA is 5th in the country. He's small but has been very good since taking over the starting job mid-season.

Ho hum. Brown trounces Quinnipiac 4-0 in the ECAC semifinals and will advance to face the winner of Union/Yale. Quinnipiac struggled against Brown this year, failing to win against the Bears in three appearances (2 ties, 1 loss).

Brown is 13-0-1 (W-L-T) when they score three goals and Borelli starts in net. It's not too surprising that a defense-first team is good they when score three goals, but that's a pretty impressive record for a team that is just 16-13-6 overall. Brown is now one win from making the NCAA tournament and could be a very menacing 4th seed should they make it, especially playing down the street from campus at the Dunk. Brown has never won an ECAC tournament so tomorrow could be a potentially very big day for the program.

Canisius is up 5-3 over Niagara with 2:05 left, which means we're all but certain to have a bracket-buster as AHA champion. The Golden Griffins would face the winner of UConn-Mercyhurst.

Not that anyone gives a shit, but thought this was worth a mention:

Minnesota's women's team beats BC 3-2 on a goal 1:42 into overtime at the Frozen Four to remain unbeaten and untied -- a perfect 40-0-0.

BC takes a 1-0 lead after a Bill Arnold crossing pass deflects off Steven Whitney's stick over Sean Maguire's shoulder with 1:27 left in 1st. Power play goal. Johnny Gaudreau also gets an assist, giving him 50 points on the season.

EDIT - And that's where it stands at the first break. Terriers were outshot 18-7. BU is 5-8-0 this year when trailing after the first period.

BU on the board as Evan Rodrigues scores his 13th of the year from the right side of the ice. Hesitated perfectly until a flailing BC defender slid by him left to right, clearing a path toward the net for his wrister. 2-1 Eagles.

Colorado College just killed off a 5-minute Gopher power play, and they're still holding a 2-0 lead.

Wow, what a save by Milner on another BU breakaway. The Terriers have suddenly burst to life. Matheson going off for tripping Rodrigues, and it'll be another BU power play. Eagles still dominating shots on goal. 30-13.

EDIT - And it's over. Score holds, Tigers win it. CC will play Wisconsin for the WCHA title, and yet another bracket buster.
