#DFG: Canceling the Noise

Is there any level of suspension that you would advise Tom to accept?

Update.  Hearing now it's going to be a fine and not a suspension.

Again, I'm only passing on what I am hearing.  FWIW.

Maybe your sources heard them say that BB would be suspended for the Puppy Bowl and misheard the first word.

BTW, I feel for you guys about this.

There's a not-small chunk of NFL fans who will consider this confirmation that the BB/Brady era Pats are forever tainted as cheaters.

I completely understand how that would bother you guys.  As hard as it might be, I would say the best course of action would be shrug that off and not care.  Haters, as the saying goes, gonna hate.

But I get that it still sucks.

I've been feeling down about this all day.  Other than a temporary moment of relief after we got past Theo's first report, I have to say the Dr. Phil is the best freaking thing I've seen all day.

I'm more troubled by all this than many, but for whatever reason that really seemed to put it in perspective for me and make me feel better.

I mean, Im sure Theo knows people and they mean well and I appreciate him trying to help with information and love his posts, but the fact that we just went from suspended for the Super Bowl to a fine tells me those guys might not really be saddling up to Rog on this one.

How have they fucked up their cash cow? This is an off week and the National media has been full tilt on ~2 PSI worth of air in footballs and people are in a frenzy about it. Its a good, clean, non-felony controversy that may not even have a true victim. And everyone can have an opinion about it, joke about it or act outraged without it becoming a problem for the league. I would actually suggest that this scandal is a tailwind for the NFL.
Sadly, you are probably right.

Without this scandal, I never would've known who Kristy Swanson is.

It was worth it, fellas.

I might be dead wrong this time too.

I really don't know if I am right.

I'm just passing on what I am hearing from two people whose connections are very good, are saying the same thing and have no reason to lie.  They are also both huge Pats fans.

My guess is that they are getting a sense of the real time debate and discussions going on at the NFL.  But who the hell knows?

Makes each win that much sweeter.

Know why I hate the Jets so much? That's partly due to all the "spygate" talk I got in the years I've lived there, always (and only) from Jets fans.

Each beat down Pats gave'em would over-inflate my little Buddha, along with each f*ck-up by Mangini, Tanny, Sanchize, and Ryan. Thrills me to no end that as they hurl their puny spygate insults, they cry themselves to sleep after watching yet another NE playoff appearance.

Eff the haters. Keep the updates coming if you have them.

The Seinfeld episode this reminds me of is where Newman tries to get Jerry for mail fraud.
Same here. "There'll be a slight fine."

Also the concept of the Patriots doctoring balls on the sideline right in front of everyone reminded me of the scene from Holy Grail where Prince Herbert is trying to sneakily send a note while the guards watch him.

Of course Theo, just seems like that runs the gamut.

Hit bovada for the max 200 on no suspension
This is entirely.consistent with your thesis that Kraft would call every card in -- and with how the world works.

All I can say is fuck Tom Brady and Peyton Manning for gaining control over game balls. It. is not worth it.

I am a father of 3 teenagers and a 4 year old. Being a fan of this team is more stressful.
