Is there any level of suspension that you would advise Tom to accept?

So it was an NFL leak to SAS and they were just going down the ladder until they reached the bottom. This didn't show up in the Wells report how? And who did he direct exactly?

You can expect the NFLPA to bring the Wells report into the court proceedings now since none of it disclosed that Brady destroyed his phone.

Turns out, he upgraded to the iPhone 6 and traded it in to Gazelle. They wiped the information from it and sold it...

This is ridiculous.

They all know you can just delete messages from a phone, right? I do it the next morning every time I get drunk and text an ex.

The letter says he told Goodell at the appeal hearing. So Wells would only know "you cant have it," not "I destroyed it."

Ah so the new information Goodell was looking for, was to be used against Brady. Fuck that guy and the NFL.

Here
Well, now we've really gotten interesting. Why would Brady "order someone to destroy his phone?"

I assume we'll have a Brady response soon.

So why would Brady tell Goodell he destroyed it? And did Ghost destroy his?not to mention that joke of a letter by Goodell implies guilt in Brady. We have our smoking gun!!!!

The likelihood that the NFL will be able to have any active crowd mics at the opener has got to be close to zero.  I cannot wait to hear the chants.

I'm so glad Brady didn't settle. I'm really looking forward to the final phase of this saga. I don't see how this can end any other way than Brady exonerated and the perfidious buffoonery of Rog& co. being fully exposed.

Wait---10,000 messages, on a phone he had used for 4 months? Brady was sending 85 or so texts every single day for 4 months?

I do that easy, and I'm sure he's got a lot more friends and stuff going on.

I have 2700 texts sent already for this month's billing period, which doesn't end until August 8th. That doesn't sound out of the ordinary to me.

Between here and everywhere.
If Brady did indeed knowingly and willingly destroy his cell phone - does that change anyone else's opinion on his guilt?

It does for me. Those are the actions of someone with something to hide.

I'd be careful with those words. You could have said something like that at every stage so far.

Like pretty much everything with this saga, I'm going to wait a while before jumping to a conclusion.

I don't get into the "whys" of all this.   For all I know, Brady told Goodell that he dropped it into the shitter while enjoying some porn and then when it didn't work, told his kid, "Just bash it with a hammer, it doesn't work anymore anyway."  That is "ordering it destroyed."

In its usual connotation, however, it appears to give the NFL some ammo.  Not 4-game ammo.

But I'd like to read the full decision, such as it is. And hear from the PA, if they chose to.

You mean until the court decides that it won't hear the case and Brady has no recourse than to accept the 4 games and miss the playoffs?

My all-time record is in the 12,000 range for one month and I'm not even rich and famous

So here is the legally aignificart part from what I have seen so far:

Wells said TB was only generally aware of deflation, more likely than not. RG has drawn the conclusion from alleged destruction of the phone that TB directed the deflation.

This is an effort to prop up one of the major legal weaknesses in the case

Many variables. What does it mean that it was "destroyed"? What may he have been hiding? I mean, it's possible that he was cheating on Giselle and really REALLY did not want his texts exposed for all to see. Who knows.

As usual, we need to wait to hear more before passing judgment, I think.

The court HAS to hear the case. It's jurisdiction is mandatory.

Take this to the Felger and Mazz thread.

I'm not jumping to anything. I'm saying if he did do it - it certainly looks suspicious.

I await Team Brady's response though.

From a legal standpoint, does the claim - and perhaps fact - that he destroyed his phone have any bearing on his ability to get an injunction?

If he's not obligated to do so in the first place, I would think not, but posing the question to the actual legal minds...

This is just like the leak about McNally taking the balls to the bathroom.  The NFL leaked that "someone took the balls to a private area".  Hours later we found out it was a freaking bathroom.  The NFL has now leaked that Brady "destroyed" his phone.  We need to wait for clarification on what that means.

Everything about this gets spun.  We need to wait for it to be brought back to center.

Minus the secretary part, that's what everyone should do with their cellphones when they get a new one. Especially rich and famous people.

Aren't texts stored in the cloud and not on a cell phone? At least with Apple they are.

This is what I was going to ask.  I always thought that destroying a phone doesn't mean the texts can never be retrieved.
