NFL says that in destroying his phone Brady kept them from being able to access 10,000 potential text messages
So it was an NFL leak to SAS and they were just going down the ladder until they reached the bottom. This didn't show up in the Wells report how? And who did he direct exactly?soxhop411 said:“@BenVolin: From the NFL: ”On or before March 6 … Brady directed that the cell phone he had used for the prior four months be destroyed.“”

The NFL says Tom Brady directed for his cell phone to be destroyed before meeting with Ted Wells. Wasn't disclosed until June 18.
Turns out, he upgraded to the iPhone 6 and traded it in to Gazelle. They wiped the information from it and sold it...soxhop411 said:“@BenVolin: From the NFL: ”On or before March 6 … Brady directed that the cell phone he had used for the prior four months be destroyed.“”
Destroyed sounds much better and will play better with the Media...drbretto said:This is ridiculous.
They all know you can just delete messages from a phone, right? I do it the next morning every time I get drunk and text an ex.

Why would he have to direct anyone to do this? It's his phone.
You can expect the NFLPA to bring the Wells report into the court proceedings now since none of it disclosed that Brady destroyed his phone.
So why would Brady tell Goodell he destroyed it? And did Ghost destroy his?not to mention that joke of a letter by Goodell implies guilt in Brady. We have our smoking gun!!!!joe dokes said:
The letter says he told Goodell at the appeal hearing. So Wells would only know "you cant have it," not "I destroyed it."

Wait---10,000 messages, on a phone he had used for 4 months? Brady was sending 85 or so texts every single day for 4 months?
I have 2700 texts sent already for this month's billing period, which doesn't end until August 8th. That doesn't sound out of the ordinary to me.DrewDawg said:

I'd be careful with those words. You could have said something like that at every stage so far.NWsoxophile said:I'm so glad Brady didn't settle. Keep listening to SAS and Trollin VolinTheShynessClinic said:If Brady did indeed knowingly and willingly destroy his cell phone - does that change anyone else's opinion on his guilt?
It does for me. Those are the actions of someone with something to hide.
Like pretty much everything with this saga, I'm going to wait a while before jumping to a conclusion.TheShynessClinic said:If Brady did indeed knowingly and willingly destroy his cell phone - does that change anyone else's opinion on his guilt?

You mean until the court decides that it won't hear the case and Brady has no recourse than to accept the 4 games and miss the playoffs?NWsoxophile said:I'm so glad Brady didn't settle. Many variables. What does it mean that it was "destroyed"? What may he have been hiding? I mean, it's possible that he was cheating on Giselle and really REALLY did not want his texts exposed for all to see. Who knows.TheShynessClinic said:If Brady did indeed knowingly and willingly destroy his cell phone - does that change anyone else's opinion on his guilt?

Right. But this is the first time a disinterested party will presiding.drbretto said:I'd be careful with those words. You could have said something like that at every stage so far.
The court HAS to hear the case. It's jurisdiction is mandatory.HomeBrew1901 said:You mean until the court decides that it won't hear the case and Brady has no recourse than to accept the 4 games and miss the playoffs?
I'm not jumping to anything. I'm saying if he did do it - it certainly looks suspicious.kenneycb said:Like pretty much everything with this saga, I'm going to wait a while before jumping to a conclusion.

Sounds like Brady's spinning it as "SOP when I get a new phone, to prevent TMZ from getting their grubby little hands on my private data."Silverdude2167 said:https://twitter.com/BenVolin/status/626100113128202240
