They're going to rip the Bruins to shreds today.

Or, more accurately, Felger is going to rip the Bruins to shreds today, and Mazz will simply parrot his every word.

I got a feeling Felger's tenor going into today will be "Ok, the player wanted to play with Crosby so you lost him, but now what? You still need to make moves!" Then Chiarelli will say something stupid in his pres conference and Felger will go into full on hate mode. I think it'll be real emotion and the exact situation that Felger is great in.

Unlike most of these predictions, I believe you'll listen and admit you were wrong if they rip Iginla & the media to shreds while praising Chiarelli & the Bruins for be willing to do something "bold".

As far as the on-ice performance, the Bruins deserve to be shredded today. But Chiarelli? No way.

"This is dog-eat-dog world, no need to be crying, Chia got caught spending all day holding their shmenzer. You don't think Crosby was talking to him all day? What you did was not enough. Ryder, Morrow, Iginla... where did they go. That's all you need to know."

HA, I was just coming in here to post the same thing.  Between the Iginla Thread and F&M I'm Iginla'd out.  He chose another team... time for me to move on because I have no interest in finding blame or fault in something like this.

I shouldn't be surprised by this, but I was. Seems like the Bruins were the only ones in this who didn't do anything wrong. Of course F&M blame them. Probably just trying to get some phone calls. Someone has to be a contrarian to make radio interesting, I guess.

I'm not saying Chiarelli deserves to be shredded. But that's exactly what's happening right now on this show -- as I knew it would.

Yep, I was wrong. 'dog was right.

This argument is giving me an ice cream headache. The Bruins should have "done more" by demanding Calgary sign the paper and put the agent on the phone. Stupid, stupid, stupid and disappointing.

Again, these guys are finding a way to blame the Boston team for doing something wrong.  Their shit is getting to be very stale and unlistenable.  IGINLA HELD ALL THE CARDS IN THIS SITUATION YOU IDIOTS!!!!!!  Don't be a moron caller and blame Chiarelli for not getting Iginla.

Nope, you called it correctly. I was wrong. And I'm disappointed. I hoped for more...but I'm stupid.

I'm with you soxfan, I was about to post the same retort to browndog earlier today but got busy.  My radio is off now but for some reason I'm surprised that Felger is attacking the Bruins for this.

So is Salk, just without any conviction.

Aaaaaaand naturally the callers are lapping this dogshit up. Apparently it's not enough to ask to talk to Iginla, he should have DEMANDED IT.

Kind of. He's talking about how Chiarelli got hoodwinked by Shero and Feaster and while not primarily responsible,he bears some burden.

F&M opened up swinging on the Bruins. I'm not sure I'll ever go back to them. I haven't enjoyed listening to them in months.

Yeah, the idea that Andrew Ference telephoning would have trumped Sidney Crosby's telephoning is the height of fraud-ism.

And the idea that Chiarelli should have said "one hour or we're pulling the offer" is equally ludacrisp. That's the second worst bluff in history.

A perfect example today of why that show is awful. And always has been. It's never been the smarter, funnier, better alternative to EEI that many hoped it would be. It's just dip-shit in the other direction. Maybe with someone other than squeaky, Felger would be more bearable. But with a greek chorus, he's unlistenable. I have no hope that the drive-time shows in this market will ever be anything other than a vast wasteland.

Well, since that's 100000000% true, it's tough to get on him for speaking the truth on that. The Habs are a bunch of diving, gutless pukes who act like they're shot every time they're touched. It's ok for that to be true you know, it's a strategy. A bitch strategy and I hate them, but it's a viable strategy nonetheless.

So you are not willing to give Salk a chance? From what I've heard so far, Salk seems listenable at least. It is unfair that you have come to this conclusion after only he has had only 9 broadcasts. Maybe Salk will suck, but it is still too early to draw any firm decisions. Iagree with your opinion about Felger and Mazz by the way. Those guys have become unlistenable for the most part.  If Felger had a Gerry Callahan or a Mike Francesa  or somebody with a backbone to rein him in sometimes, then the show could be great.  My main  point is that it is still too early to lump Salk into the vast wasteland of suck as you so aptly put it.

Bertrand is at least challenging Felger on it and telling it like it is.  Meanwhile Mazz just sits there and says dumb shit over and over again and agrees with Mike most of the time.  Bertrand is spot on though.

Fair enough. I've only heard a couple of Salk's broadcasts. I can't say he's jumped out at me one way or the other, but it's conceivable he could grow into a decent listen. The problem there is Holley. I have plenty of sample size listening to him through the years, and just don't find him to be a particularly well-informed, interesting, or entertaining listen. To be fair, working and living in CT. during the 90's, my standard is Mike and the Mad Dog. Probably unfair to hold other shows up against arguably the best program the format has ever produced. I really think Boston, in my view the best sports town in America(fire-away at me and my pom-poms) has been woefully under-served by sports talk radio through the years.

Every team in the league dives. The Bruins are just as bad as the others, including the Habs. The Bruins have been using this excuse since the 70s. It is played out. It is beyond played out.

And Marchand's not just one guy, he's one of the biggest cunts in the league. It's like me saying that besides PK Subban the Habs have no players other teams love to hate.

1. No one dives as much as Montreal. This is widely accepted fact around the league... accept by Habs fans, like yourself.
2. The Bruins very rarely dive, and Claude is on record chastizing Marchand when he has done it in the past. Is Michelle doing that? Give me a break.
3. Your analogy is awful  Marchand is one guy. That is fact. Are you being deliberately obtuse there, or just completely stupid? And how in the fucking world is pointing out the fact you named ONE guy like saying besides PK the Habs have no other player that teams love to hate? You named ONE guy! I just reiterated that you pointed out only one guy, and then you come up with a horrid analogy. Jesus, I thought you were a bright guy.
4. Thornton got tackled in that gif. Secondly, Paille loses his balance in that one, like he always fucking does, but I admit that one looks more dive-y than the Thortnton one.

Only someone who knows nothing about hockey would think the Thornton call was diving, or that Paille was anything but losing his balance as a result of the high stick.

Or a Habs fan. Same thing.

Anyone expecting anything better from F&M is insane at this point. I like Felger, but if he isn't challenged he gets lazy, and there isn't a lazier person on the radio than Mazz. I haven't listened in moths, and likely won't until Tony is gone.

This is a widely accepted idea from Bruins fans, last time I heard Marek and Wyshynski discussing this they and their listeners said Vancouver without missing a beat. Because of the time difference I don't get to follow much of the league that doesn't wear blue, white and red but from what I've seen the Nucks certainly pass the smell test. The Bruins embellish all the time. I know this because they play in the NHL, where players embellish all the time. It's great PR for coaches to say in public they don't believe in it but nobody's ever passed up a powerplay because hey, my guy dived.

Marchand's one of the biggest pests in the league, everybody knows that. Other than that I have no idea how that made sense...dude I'm on like 3 hours of sleep. But he's an embellisher and the fact the Bruins continue to employ him is evidence they aren't the red-blooded, hairy-chested defenders of physical but honest hockey they portray themselves to be. It's not like the Pens and Matt Cooke, but...ah, I just hate that guy.

Thornton's pumping little legs gave out mighty easy when Eller got on him. But then you guys have never given any Hab the benefit of the doubt when it comes to diving.

It's like the same way I got a raging semi when you guys bitched about Subban's dives and general jerk behavior before this year. Not that he's a saint now, but he's taken a big step up this year. I would have started badgering my wife if he scored on that end to end rush in the 2nd. That was worth the lack of sleep.

Mazz's rant on Bard's assignment to Portland was unbearable. Typical whiny, knee-jerk, assumptive, "it's-a-lower-level-than-Pawtucket-so-he-must-REALLY-suck!!1!" bullshit. Far be it from him to actually put some analytical thought into the scenario to seek out other possible explanations.

Seriously. 911 dispatchers in Boston were overloaded with calls from angry hockey fans last night.
